Cinematic Shots of Tsushima

Hi everyone! Greetings! How's it going? Hope you're all doing great. I'm doing fine tho, just in case anyone's wondering. It's been ages since I last posted any gaming photography in this community. I've always wanted to post something, but I haven't been gaming much lately since I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease. Still, I'm hoping to get back into it, engage more, and join gaming photography contests again. That's my goal!

For my first post of the year (oh, and Happy New Year 2025!), I’m jumping back in with a submission for the "Cinematic Shots" contest. Here’s the link to the contest if you’re interested. The more, the merrier.

For this contest, as usual, I'll be diving into Ghost of Tsushima.

The first shot I captured was at the beach near Beachside Camp. It’s such a stunning view during sunset! You can see crabs playing along the shore, and in the distance, a Japanese warship floats, waiting for orders. Sadly, I can’t actually board the ship unless there’s a mission for it, but it still adds to the cinematic vibe.

Next, I traveled to South Kashine Haiku and stumbled upon a wooden house. It felt like a samurai returning home after a long journey. The white cherry blossoms with their falling petals were breathtaking, and the pampas grass added a beautiful view to the scenery.

This shot features the blind Legend Storyteller NPC, whom you can interact with. In my imagination, it looks like a Ronin bowing respectfully to his master, who’s seated on a rock. You’ll find this NPC if you head south of Azamo Haiku.

To complete the required number of shots, I explored an area I hadn’t been to before, north of Stone Arch Crossing. There, I encountered three enemies guarding a cart carrying valuable goods. I jumped into a fight with the enemies, taking some battle action shots during the battle.

It was a bit rough at first since I’d forgotten how to fight, but thankfully muscle memory kicked in. I got stabbed a few times before I remembered how to block and dodge. The fight was set by a river, which made for a great backdrop. My opponents included two giant enemies and one wielding dual swords. After a few moments (including being sent flying a few feet back, so embarrassing, haha), I regained my skills. Dodging and counter-attacking enemies became common again, and I even succeeded in a few parries after some practice.

The final scene was a brutal killing blow, complete with blood splatter. Capturing the clash of swords was easy, thanks to my over 100 hours of playtime in this game, even though I haven’t finished it yet, haha.

So, that’s it for this post! I don't want it to be too long or too short. I hope you enjoy these screenshots that I’ve shared for the "Cinematic Shots" contest. Thank you so much for your support, and I wish you all the best today. Until next time, take care. Goodbye!
