Childhood memories & escape from reality #LOH30

As any other kid, I was a big fan of cartoons for a certain period in my childhood. I was a kid a long time ago, it was not as available as today. So cartoons and choices of them were very limited. But that was the hole point. You couldn't just sit in front of the TV, turn it on and choose any TV show or cartoon from an endless list of them, you had to be in front of the TV at a certain time each day, not to miss it. Even that wasn't enough sometimes, as it could be easily replaced with some other, more important TV program. I remember I used to get up at 7 on the weekends so I could watch a cartoon marathon. I would be so mad at myself if I slept in and missed it. Some of the shows and cartoons I would like to single out are "Moomins" and "Broom without Handle".

Moomins

Moomins is probably the only one you heard of, maybe. It's Japanese/Dutch cartoon, based on story and comic. To be honest until i looked it up now, I didn't know it's considered anime. But it is. It's a lovely cartoon, story about family of Moomins, and their day-to-day adventures of living in their vally. Can't say anything more specific about it, I just know I remember it as one of my favourite cartoons, that I didn't want to miss.

Broom without handle

This one is a TV show about 2 boys and 2 girls, and their adventures and mysterious store in the neighborhood. This one is a really fun TV series in my language and perfect for young people. I watched it as I was a bit older, and cartoons were as much fun as they used to be to me.

Now that I think, with time, we used to have much more shows and TV series that were suitable for certain ages of kids, some entertaining, but also educational, and unlike kids today, we maybe didn't have many shows, but for sure quality was way better back then (not in a tech way, but content wise).

It was a nice, free-stress period of life, when the biggest worry was will we miss our favorite TV show. Sometimes I feel nostalgic for that time. But since we can't go back, and we can only live in the present, I do what is in my power to make the present as good as it can be. Specially nowadays, with so much happening in my country, and world, I try my best to escape reality for as much as I can, and just enjoy the moment, doing something I love. For me, that is painting and reading. Those are my two big loves, and even though I didn't give myself time for any of these in a while, now was the perfect time to go back to it. I haven't lost any interest for any of these two, so I was buying both art supplies and books, even without time to use it. But now, time has come, and these are the things I enjoy daily in my life, and they give me escape from daily worries, news, and all the bad things. I will probably share some of my work in the future, but for now, here are some quick drawings I used for this post.
