A few days ago, while talking to a friend, he told me something that left me thinking: "Your street photos are not only for you, they are for those who will come after you". And boy, was he right. Each image is, in reality, a small historical record. An instant that tells how we were, how we dressed, how we lived and dreamed. It is to see, over time, what has changed and what resists doing so. It fascinates me to think that in a few years someone might look at my photos and discover a little piece of Havana that no longer exists, or perhaps recognize that some things are still the same.

So, the next time I go out with my camera, I will do it thinking of my friend's words: that they are not just moments, but that each photo is a piece of history. And that, in the end, they are not only mine, they belong to all of us who love Havana and to those who, in the future, will want to know what the city was like, how we lived, dreamed and resisted. Cada imagen es, en realidad, un pequeño registro histórico. Un instante que cuenta cómo éramos, cómo vestíamos, cómo vivíamos y soñábamos. Es ver, con el tiempo, lo que ha cambiado y lo que se resiste a hacerlo. Me fascina pensar que dentro de unos años alguien podría mirar mis fotos y descubrir un pedacito de La Habana que ya no existe, o quizás, reconocer que algunas cosas, siguen iguales.

Así que, la próxima vez que salga con mi cámara, lo haré pensando en las palabras de mi amigo: que no son solo momentos, sino que cada foto es un pedazo de historia.
