The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 408: Saturdays are better with beer 🍻🍺

Saturdays are better with beer

Excellent Saturday, friends, beer lovers and active members of this community of the famous barley elixir.

Today I want to share with you one of the most famous beers in Venezuela and with a certain tradition in my country. It is the incomparable Solera Verde. There is no beer drinker who does not know the strength, the bitterness and the true pleasure of drinking a green Solera.

This beer, which was first released in 1955, is known for having the highest alcohol content, 6°, in the Venezuelan beer market. Even the most experts certify the effect that consuming 4 or more green Solera can have. However, this has not limited the fact that since 2000 it has been considered the fifth most consumed beer in the country.

Solera Verde is a helles beer manufactured by Empresas Polar, belonging to the premium segment, and although it was not very well received when it was first launched, it was in the 1990s that the brand began to consolidate its position in the palates of Venezuelan beer lovers.

Its ingredients are water, malt, hops, yeast. As a helle beer it has a light color, also its bitter taste is stronger than that of other Venezuelan beers. Within the market, this is the beer with a taste more similar to the European pilsen style.

I just checked and it is considered ideal to drink Solera verde in cold climates, not so in sunny climates like the beach because it heats up too quickly and loses its flavor. Also, I believe, that its high alcohol content can have a greater and immediate effect in hot climates.

I bought two green Solera, each for $1.5. Within the Venezuelan beer market, these Solera beers, the green and the blue (which I will talk about in future opportunities) are among the most expensive, as they are considered products not for all tastes.

To accompany the beers, I chopped various types of cheese, salami and some olives. This type of accompaniment is perfect and delicious, ideal for a Saturday reading and relaxing at home.

This is my participation in the #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 408, sponsored and promoted by the magnificent @detlev and the #beer community. 🍻🍺
This is #BeerSaturday week and I would like to invite the unmatched @tengolotodo to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.

But the color looks like it is lighter, i never really had beer in my life. Vut I want to experience it one day 🥹😆✨
You should start with mild and less bitter beers. This one is strong. I know if you try a good beer, you're going to become a fan. Regards and thanks for your comment
Hehe Parot needs a beer 🍻🍺
You are right, the colour really does look like a Pilsner.
I am not joining you this week however I am joining you for an afterhours beer and will make a post from net week.
I do like the sound of 6% hehe!
Sending a big Solera hug with cheese and meats, you know I first saw the name and read it as Solana!
Time someone makes a Hive beer I think...
That 6 can be really “devastating” and in a hot city like mine, it must be dangerous to drink green Solera. hahahaha. Can you imagine a beer of HIVE? It would be wonderful! I offer myself as a taster in Venezuela!! hahaha. A hug and a nice Sunday, my friend
haha I knew you would do that!
Ah yes I am sure there are many who would want to be tasters! Yeah be careful with strong beer in hot climates, not that it ever bothered me!
A big Sunday hug my friend!
I've never tried that beer but it sounds good, especially with salty cheese and salami. I found a stronger version of Guinnessthat I like, it's around 5.6%. My favorite would have to be IPAs though. I hope you have a great week, Nancy!
