A cat-shaped alien arrives on planet earth and must seek help to repair his ship and return home. A very funny movie, and what else would you expect from an alien in the shape of a cat? The jokes about feline behaviors from the human perspective and vice versa are very well thought out. As for the syfy part it has coherence, the whole context that cats are superior, but they developed more when they left Planet Earth and have super technologies with which they can communicate mentally, among other things. I think it's wonderful and I see no flaws to that logic 😸
The cat actor named Jake in the movie did splendidly, I know how complex it is to train an animal so for that alone the movie gets a lot of credit. The lead scientists and supporting characters are quite a show. Plus, despite being more than 30 years old, I think the effects have aged very well,
it must have been quite an event to see it in the cinema!
I chose it because I think it's a very good movie and I think it's not so well known among the general public. I like aliens that show their intelligence and insight, beyond whether they are funny or scary. I also like it when they break out of the typical gray or green, big-headed, big-eyed, tall little man aesthetic.
And without a doubt I already know several cats that could be space beings, their beauty is out of this world 💙 Usually our cats, Gato Luna and Agatha watch the movies with us, this one caused them special curiosity and they tried to touch the kitten because we saw it in the projector. I thought it was very funny the first time they give Jake cat food, then he gets almost addicted to the tuna. I hope you get a chance to see it! We downloaded it via Pirate Bay and the subtitles via Subdivx, but being a Disney movie I'm guessing it's on Disney Plus or some other platform.
💙 Killer Klowns from outer space(1988) 💙
The only film written, directed and produced by the Chiodo Brothers. Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson,Royal Dano and John Vernon as the main actors. On its release it received positive reviews and by now has become a cult classic.
Another secret gem of SyFy cinema in my opinion, it is about aliens in the form of clowns that come to the planet to kill humans, but not kill them directly, but leave them wrapped in cotton candy to suck their blood. The plot as such is a bit far-fetched, but the way the story is narrated makes you entertained and pass a little of the absurdities that the plot has, and the half-wittedness of the protagonists will make you want to get into the screen, help them out of all that mess and save the people from the Clown-alien invasion.
Unlike the previous movie, these aliens are really scary, they look like clowns, but their features are super exaggerated which does give the feeling that they are beings from another world. The cheeks, ears, noses and eyes, their bodies are pretty amorphous too, I definitely wouldn't want to meet this type of alien.
I had a lot of hype to see this movie, I do circus and clowns have always seemed like very weird characters to me, especially since I have met them off stage and.... better not tell you in depth about this. We saw it for the first time at a friends house, also with the projector. I'm a fan of movies in their original language, but our friend didn't want to read buuuuhhhhhhhh and we watched it DOUBLED INTO SPANISH OF SPAIN terrible decision 😩 I feel a little bit I missed the experience, the next day I tried to watch it subtitled, but the damage was done.
However, I highlight many things about the movie, especially the witticisms of the writers and screenwriters. The first would be that the spaceship of the killer clown aliens is a CIRCUS TENT!!!! hahaha I died with this, and it's from the first scenes in the movie. Another one is that they have guns that shoot popcorn and cotton candy, they make doggies with balloons that come to life to help them sniff out the people they are looking for, in short... that the aliens with clowns manage to do their thing. The soundtrack is very good, electronic type, but played with guitars and rock instruments.

Un extraterrestre con forma de gato llega al planeta tierra y debe buscar ayuda para reparar su nave y volver a casa. Una película muy divertida, y es que ¿qué más podría esperarse de un alien con forma de gato? Los chistes sobre los comportamientos de los felinos desde la perspectiva humana y viceversa están muy bien pensados. En cuanto a la parte syfy tiene coherencia, todo el contexto de que los gatos son superiores, pero se desarrollaron más al salir del Planeta Tierra y tienen súper tecnologías con las que pueden comunicarse mentalmente, entre otras cosas. Me parece maravilloso y no veo fallas a esa lógica 😸
El gato actor nombrado Jake en la película lo hizo esplendidamente, sé lo complejo que es entrenar a un animal así que solo por eso la peli tiene mucho crédito. Los científicos protagonistas y los personajes secundarios son todo un show. Sumado a que a pesar de tener más de 30 años de antigüedad me parece que sus efectos han envejecido muy bien,
debió ser todo un evento verla en cine!
La elegí porque me parece una muy buena película y creo que no tiene tanta difusión entre el público general. Me gustan los aliens que muestran su inteligencia y perspicacia, más allá de si son graciosos o si dan miedo. También me gusta cuando salen de la típica estética de hombrecillo gris o verde, cabezón, de ojos grandes y alto.
Y sin duda ya conozco varios gatos que bien podrían ser seres del espacio, su belleza es fuera de este mundo 💜 Usualmente nuestros gatos, Gato Luna y Agatha ven las películas con nosotros, esta les causo especial curiosidad y trataban de tocar al gatito porque la vimos en el proyector. Me pareció muy chistoso la primera vez que le dan comida de gato a Jake, luego queda casi que adicto al atún. Ojalá tengan la oportunidad de verla! Nosotros la descargamos por Pirate Bay y los subtítulos por Subdivx, pero al ser una película de Disney supongo que está en Disney Plus o en alguna otra plataforma.

Otra joya secreta del cine de SyFy a mi parecer, trata de unos Extraterrestres con forma de Payasos que vienen al planeta a acabar con los humanos, pero no matarlos directamente, sino dejarlos envueltos en algodón de azúcar para ir succionándoles la sangre. El argumento como tal está un poco descabellado, pero como está narrada la historia hace que te entretengas y pases un poco de los absurdos que tiene la trama, y lo medio tontos que son los protagonistas te hará querer entrar a la pantalla, ayudarles a salir de todo ese lío y salvar al pueblo de la invasión Payaso-extraterrestre.
A diferencia de la película anterior, estos aliens sí dan mucho miedo, tienen apariencia de payasos, pero sus facciones son superexageradas lo cual si da sensación de que son seres de otro mundo. Las mejillas, las orejas, las narices y los ojos, sus cuerpos son bastante amorfos también, definitivamente no quisiera conocer este tipo de alien.
Tenía mucho hype por ver esta película, hago circo y los payasos siempre me han parecido personajes muy raros, sobre todo porque los he conocido fuera del escenario y.... mejor no les profundizo sobre esto. La vimos por primera vez en casa de unos amigos, también con el proyector. Yo soy fan de las películas en su idioma original, pero nuestro amigo no quería leer buuuuhhhhhh y la vimos DOBLADA AL ESPAÑOL DE ESPAÑA terrible decision 😩 siento que un poco me perdí la experiencia, al día siguiente trate de verla subtitulada, pero el daño estaba hecho.
Sin embargo, resalto muchas cosas de la película, sobre todo de las ocurrencias de los escritores y guionistas. La primera sería que la nave espacial de los aliens payasos asesinos es una CARPA DE CIRCO!!!! hahaha morí con esto, y es de las primeras escenas en la película. Otra es que tienen armas que disparan palomitas de maíz y algodón de azúcar, hacen perritos con globos que cobran vida para ayudarlos a olfatear a las personas que buscan, en fin… que los extraterrestres con payasadas se las arreglan para hacer de las suyas. El soundtrack es muy bueno, tipo electrónica, pero tocado con guitarras e instrumentos más del rock.
