The Fall of Furigam — The Yhagga War

	Greetings Freewriters community, it's a pleasure to post here again after so long, I'm back because I've been inspired by @ladyaryastark, to participate in this contest. I like this dynamic, so I'm willing to share my ideas in Freewritershouse.

Legends tell that in a land far away there were fantastic beasts such as griffins and manticores that ravaged the villages built by man, but none of these creatures were as fearsome as The Dragon

During the middle ages, man tested his mastery of the world by confronting the beasts that aggressively annihilated all those they considered a threat to the ecosystem; They were said to be noble creatures that coexisted with mother nature, but after man's invasion of the Sacred lands of Yhagga, an inevitable inter-species war broke out that lasted an entire decade.

At first mankind stood no chance against the creatures, hundreds of men were devoured and torn to pieces with ease. But the humans resisted, refusing to give up...

After years of defeat at the hands of the monsters, they rose from the ashes:

The platinum knights, powerful men with exceptional abilities fought hard for humanity until they developed mystical powers with which they faced the enemy.

Only a dozen of them were enough to exterminate most of these fearsome creatures from the face of the earth.

In time, mankind naively believed that it emerged victorious from that warlike conflict. And then came years of peace in which man fought banal battles against his equal... However...

After a long nap, the monarch of the beasts awoke from his slumber to realize what man had done.
One day like any other, the ruler of the heavens flew across the world, driven by a thirst for blood.

The fire of anger made the dragon burn, as it raged, its scales scorched everything it touched and with its breath it destroyed towns, villages and entire kingdoms.

It was a calamity that did not cease, a god of destruction without mercy that burned as a flame, men referred to him as: "Furigam”

When all was thought lost, the platinum knights united once again after so many years in order to eradicate the king of beasts.

The final battle for survival was fought on top of the highest mountain in Yhagga, Guraamyr. The knights ambushed Furigam at that place to be his tomb, however...

11 of the silver knights perished in the midst of combat, succumbed to the fire and only melted pieces of their armor remained.

The news echoed around the world, humanity lost hope. Every man, woman and child was in despair, the anguish at the thought of disappearing was agony. In those dark days, no one prayed for mercy, all mankind wished for only one thing.

That the dragon would be gone forever.

The last knight made his appearance at the last moment, being severely wounded, he set out to end the life of the fearsome dragon.

He swung his sword, went to Furigam and lunged with all his might to stab its scaly incandescent skin right in the heart.

The knight sacrificed his life to end the dragon's life. No one knew his name, but he was known and remembered as the bravest hero who ever lived.

Mankind celebrated his great deed and was very grateful to this hero for saving them from annihilation.

Cuentan las leyendas que en una tierra muy lejana existían bestias fantásticas como grifos y manticoras que arrasaban con los pueblos construidos por el hombre, pero ninguna de esas criaturas era tan temible como El Dragón

Durante la edad media, el hombre puso a prueba su dominio del mundo al enfrentarse a las bestias que aniquilaban agresivamente a todo los que consideraban una amenaza para el ecosistema; Se decía que eran criaturas nobles que convivían con la madre naturaleza, pero tras la invasión del hombre en las Sagradas tierras de Yhagga, se desato una inevitable guerra entre especies que duro una década entera.

Al principio la humanidad no tenía ninguna oportunidad de hacerle frente a las criaturas, cientos de hombres fueron devorados y despedazados con facilidad. Pero los humanos resistían, se negaban a desistir…

Tras años de derrotas a manos de los monstruos, ellos surgieron de las cenizas:

Los caballeros de platino, poderosos hombres con habilidades excepcionales lucharon arduamente por la humanidad hasta desarrollar poderes místicos con los cuales le hicieron frente al enemigo.

Solo una docena de ellos basto para exterminar de la faz de la tierra a la mayoría de esas temibles criaturas.

Con el tiempo, la humanidad creyó ingenuamente que salió victorioso de ese conflicto bélico. Y vinieron años de paz en los que el hombre libraba batallas banales contra su igual: Sin embargo…

Tras una larga siesta, el monarca de las bestias despertó de su letargo para darse cuenta de lo que había hecho el hombre.
Un día como cualquier otro, el soberado de los cielos voló por el mundo entero guiado por una sed de sangre.

El fuego de la ira hizo arder al dragón, al enfurecerse, sus escamas calcinaban todo lo que tocaba y con su aliento destruyo pueblos, aldeas y reinos enteros.

Era toda una calamidad que no cesaba, un dios de la destrucción sin misericordia que incendiaba cual llamarada, los hombres se referían a él cómo: “Furigam”
Cuando todo se creía perdido, los caballeros de platino se unieron una vez más después de tantos años con el fin de erradicar al rey de las bestias.

La batalla final por la supervivencia se riño en la cima de la montaña más alta de Yhagga, Guraamyr. Los caballeros lo emboscaron a Furigam en ese lugar para que fuera su tumba, sin embargo…

11 de los caballeros de platino perecieron en pleno combate, sucumbieron ante el fuego y solo quedaron pedazos derretidos de sus armaduras.

La noticia hizo eco en todo el mundo, la humanidad perdió la esperanza. Todo hombre, mujer y niño estaba desesperado, la angustia ante la idea de desaparecer era una agonía. En esos días tan oscuros, nadie rezaba por misericordia, toda la humanidad deseaba una única cosa.

Que el dragón se fuera para siempre.

El último caballero hizo su aparición en el último momento, estando severamente herido, se dispuso a acabar con la vida del temible dragón.

Empuño su espada, fue hasta Furigam y se abalanzo con todas sus fuerzas para apuñalar su escamosa piel incandescente justo en el corazón.

El caballero sacrifico su vida para acabar con la vida del dragón. Nadie supo su nombre, pero fue conocido y recordado como el héroe más valiente que haya existido.

La humanidad celebro su gran hazaña y estuvo muy agradecido con ese héroe por evitar la aniquilación.
