Captivated By The Light - A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

What do you see?
I see a man standing and gazing at the bright light that shines at the end of a tunnel that seems covered by darkness and gloom.

What do you feel?:
I feel hope stirring up courage to keep holding on and moving forward.

Story:
No sooner had I closed my eyes than I found myself back in an environment that has begun to feel all too familiar to me.

This has been going on for weeks, and now the weeks have spanned into months. For some reason that I do not know, it seems I am now even looking forward to this experience that only shows up when everything else is shut out.

I looked around me, taking in the now familiar sight of thick clouds and gloomy darkness that my eyes have become accustomed to seeing each time. "Where is he?", I thought to myself.

As I continued looking, I saw the lone figure standing a bit far from where I was watching form. Even after so many weeks, it was impossible for me to tell whether that was a man or a woman clothed in a man's attire. The more I watched, the more I felt I knew who this person was.

Whether or not he knew he was being watched, I may never be able to tell. Yet all I knew was that I needed to observe with very rapt attention.

And then, as I decided to concentrate I saw something that made this particular experience different from all the former ones. Right before my eyes, the darkness began to roll away, revealing a tunnel a bit further ahead from where that lone figure was standing.

But wait a minute! Why hadn't I noticed this tunnel all these weeks? Perhaps I will get a better look if I move to where that lone figure was standing!

So, I began to move, keeping my eyes fixed on the glimmer of light shining through that tunnel like a ray of hope shining through a season of darkness. The more I moved forward, the wider the tunnel appeared, and the brighter the light shone.

Suddenly remembering that I must be careful not to catch the attention of that lone figure, I paused. To my amazement, there was no one there anymore, for I was standing where I had seen him stand.

Then it dawned on me that there had never been anyone else here but me. That was when it all began to make sense - the several weeks of journeying in the darkness, everything I had experienced before now had been building up to this very moment!

Now, I have the sign I have been searching for it is time move on boldly following the light of hope. With that, I open my eyes ready to follow my heart as it follows the light.

Thank you for reading my story. It is my entry for @freewrite's prompt in this post. I hope you enjoyed it. Please share your thoughts in the comments section, and I will get back to you.

Such are the aspects of being contemplative, what one sees is oneself. It was a dream, anything is possible, but I have travelled in my fantasy to such luminous places and found it difficult to return.

I know, right! Of course, at the end of the day it is all about us and nothing else. No one would want to return after seeing such luminous places, you know 🤣🤣🤣.

When you get to that point, you just want to keep going, because what you're seeing is a beacon of inspiration.

When one discovers the person you see is, in fact, yourself ... so often this is our reality. Good story!
