Splinterlands Art Contest Week 256 | Ice Pixie [ENG-ESP]

Hello beautiful people of Hive, happy almost start of the week, hahaha.

Today is my birthday and I feel happy, I've always liked "my day". On the other hand, today I share with you a new fan art. Why today, being my birthday? One of the reasons is that this time I started the drawing with more time, since Sunday I've been working on it, the other reason is that I don't like to do nothing, hahaha, so, having the afternoon free and at home, I decided to publish it now.

The character I chose to draw this week is called Ice Pixie. I love fairies and any adorable creature, and this character has a particular charm that motivated me to do.

I must say that I really enjoyed doing this drawing (although I do it with all the drawings I present to you) but this one in particular I tried a couple of new things: one of them is a much more animated style, "chibi" you could say, and, the second thing was the brushes I used, much more textured and I feel they leave a nice finish.

Process:

As always, I try to keep the essence of the original character, that's why I looked for several dynamic poses to represent her properly. It's the first time I draw in a chibi style, I followed some references of an old animated series called Pixies that I liked a lot to make the character design, I must say it was a little weird to draw the head so big when I usually draw more proportionate characters, hahaha.

After the outline, which I made with a dry texture brush, like charcoal, I went on to color each part of the character with the same brush, using the predetermined colors of the chart.

Afterwards, I drew the background, it's quite simple, I just made some gradient effects playing with the layers and added some kind of purple spheres around it. Then, I finished sketching the character's powers and the place where the gems and other details would go. I didn't forget to draw these elements, but I felt more comfortable leaving them for later and concentrate on the character first, the creative process can vary sometimes, hahaha.

My favorite part is usually when it's time to add the light and glitter effects, so I tried to make this little fairy stand out with these details. I made a simple but pretty design on her wings, then drew some crystals on her face and went on to make the spiral effect of magic dust. The crystals were made separately, I cut and copied them around the character and finished making the flames on his right hand.

Hola gente linda de Hive, feliz casi inicio de semana, jajaja.

Hoy es mi cumpleaños y me siento feliz, siempre me ha gustado “mi día”. Por otro lado, hoy les comparto un nuevo fan art ¿Por qué hoy, siendo mi cumpleaños? Una de las razones es que esta vez me adelanté a la tarea de empezar el dibujo con más tiempo, desde el domingo estuve trabajando en él; la otra razón, es que no me gusta no hacer nada, jajaja, así que, teniendo la tarde libre y en casa, decidí publicar de una vez.

El personaje que escogí dibujar esta semana se llama Ice Pixie. Adoro las hadas y cualquier criatura adorable, y este personaje tiene un encanto particular que me motivó a hacer.

Debo decir que disfruté mucho haciendo este dibujo (aunque lo hago con todos los dibujos que les presento) pero este en particular intenté un par de cosas nuevas: una de ellas es un estilo mucho más animado, “chibi” se podría decir, y, lo segundo fueron los pinceles que usé, mucho más texturizados y que siento que dejan un lindo acabado.

Proceso:

Como siempre, procuro mantener la esencia del personaje original, por eso busqué varias poses dinámicas para representarla adecuadamente. Es la primera vez que dibujo en un estilo chibi, seguí algunas referencias de una vieja serie animada llamada Pixies que me gustaba mucho para hacer el diseño del personaje, debo decir que fue un poco raro dibujar la cabeza tan grande cuando suelo dibujar personajes más proporcionados, jajaja.

Luego del delineado, que realicé con un pincel de textura seca, como de carboncillo, pasé a colorear cada parte del personaje con el mismo pincel, usando los colores predeterminados de la carta.

Posteriormente, dibujé el fondo, es bastante sencillo, solo hice algunos efectos de degradado jugando con las capas y añadí una especie de esferas purpuras alrededor. Luego, terminé de bocetar los poderes del personaje y el lugar donde irían las gemas y otros detalles. No me olvidé de dibujar estos elementos, pero me sentí más a gusto dejándolos para después y concentrarme primero en el personaje, el proceso creativo puede variar a veces, jajaja.

Mi parte favorita suele ser cuando toca añadir los efectos de luces y brillos, así que traté que esta hadita destacara con estos detalles. Hice un diseño simple pero bonito en sus alas, luego dibujé unos cristales en su rostro y proseguí haciendo el efecto en espiral de polvillo mágico. Los cristales fueron hechos aparte, los corté y copié alrededor del personaje y finalicé haciendo las flamas en su mano derecha.
