Helpful Tips For Thriving On Hive

How can I easily forget how everything seemed complicated when I first found myself in hive? This platform looked like a strange land to me. This is the best way I can explain how I felt. Some people easily give up on hive when they lack some kind of mentorship on how to thrive. Personally, my onboarder tried to put me through to the best of his knowledge, but I wouldn't deny the fact that I nearly gave up in my first 3 months. The experience was as if this platform wasn't meant for my kind of person. Where will I even start to explain my challenges before I start feeling at home here? It was never an easy beginning for me.

I joined hive on October 5, 2021. This is like one year and eight months now. My first challenge started with my inability to create content. I told myself that I am never a writer, so I can't thrive here, and I wonder why my onboarder disturbed my life to join in the first place. I could go days without creating content because I don't even know what to write, especially when I exhaust writing about my motherhood experience, and most times whenever I write, I will have no one to read it, nor will I have curation on the post. My post rewards usually look like radio FM channels (0.57, 0.78, etc.). All these were enough reasons for me to back out because it was totally discouraging.

But something happened.

I had the privilege of being accepted into the newbie program, where the instructors nurtured us and gave us wider knowledge about hive. I started implementing all I learned in the program and began thriving in hive.

The helpful tips

Engagement: This was the best strategy that assisted my growth here. How can I publish a post, go back to sleep, and expect miracles in the hours to come as a beginner? I totally got it wrong at the beginning, but the moment I embraced engagement, the difference was clear. I would move from one community to another, dropping well-thought-out comments and not the organic comments others make, to fulfill all rights. The truth is that if you don't engage well, it will be difficult to gain visibility. No one knew me until I started engaging with my heart, soul, and body.lolz. I don't know how best to explain this, but engagement is a must for anyone who aspires to thrive here.

Be consistent: I show up daily in hive, even on the days I am not able to make a post. I make it a point of duty to be active as much as I can. Blogging today, going on leave, and coming back in a month will surely slow one's growth. Even when the reward is not coming, I never give up. I have remained consistent from day one until now, and it's been helpful.

Join contests: a lot of contests are ongoing in hive every now and then. The problem I had with my inability to come up with a post was solved immediately when I started joining contests, even to this day. This is another way to remain consistent here, as you wouldn't have any excuse for not having something to write.

Make friends in hive: Building healthy relationships here is very important. You need people to thrive in hive. The Good friends I have made so far have been a major influence on my thriving here. They never seized the opportunity to share important information that would assist in growing better. We keep learning from each other, making the journey here so fun and rewarding at the same time.

Discover your niche community: I do not have many niche communities, but the few I have, I try to remain relevant there. Being active in my niche community has made a lot of difference. Let the community of your interest know you through your active postive involvement, and this will lead me to the final helpful tip here below.

Be active in discord activities: when I discovered my niche community, the next thing I did and still do is get involved with their discord activities. For one to thrive in hive, I can say that being active in discord is a must. A lot of activities go on via Discord; one can easily make friends over there and earn during giveaways, which some Discord servers engage in. All these are helpful tips that should be practiced at all times for a better hive experience.

In summary, these are the few tips that have helped my journey in hive so far, and I believe that any newbie who implements all of these will thrive here. I don't ever regret joining Hive, and I'm still thriving despite the poor state of Crypto at the moment.
