The community is celebrating the sixth anniversary of Splinterlands. As always, splinters are coming together to share the joy all over social media.

The last six months have been so exciting in the game space on Splinterlands. I can guarantee you, it will be even more fun in the following month.

My journey in the ranking battle of Splinterlands did not start six years ago but a few years ago. It was a long and exceptional adventure as I explored Pretoria Land with the community's splinters.

Let's travel in time to revisit key moments of my journey on Splinterlands.

How did you come across Splinterlands?

Blogging activities spread my connection with many communities back when I started on social media backed by blockchain in 2017. I was so interested in the gaming universe in the concept of transactions backed by blockchain that I read much about online gaming articles. I discovered articles about Splinterlands in 2018 when Steemmonsters appeared on the network.

Furthermore, I only started playing the game in 2019. One year from the discovery to the moment I bought my first pack gave me the time to learn a lot about strategies and tips to start in the right position.

The community helped me join the game and stay connected with the game despite the ups and downs players feel over the months.

How long have you been a part of Splinterlands?

If I am not mistaken, I stayed active for over 50 seasons in Splinterlands. I always find the time to submit my battles and never has changed guild since I joined Alliance Guild.

I had only a limited number of cards given in the game back in 2019. It was not easy for me to purchase assets for many months after I joined the game. However, I played for long hours, around three hours in a row.

Accomplishments

I got into the Gold League after three months of active battling in the arena.
Also, I made a promise to never sell any assets until I reached the Champion League. It helped me win in difficult situations against powerful adversaries. One old card powerless at first can show its real potential many seasons later.
My entry in Champion League III was unexpected and the moment I celebrated, purchasing many Splintershare SPS. My performance with basic cards led my team into the Champion League for the first time in 2021, then it happened again in April 2024.

Upcoming Goals

My project to move further in the upper ranks of the Champion League is my target. It will only be possible to reach the second stage if I maximize the level of experience of key warriors in my collection.
I am preparing to sell many cards that can no longer help me and gather the fun to buy powerful cards relevant in Champion League.

Advice for Beginners

The free mode is a fundamental step in the learning curve as you enter the challenging land of Pretoria. The knowledge of rulesets, card abilities, and the market of assets can not be ignored or simply acquired by watching other players.

Don't hesitate to get your spellbooks once you know your way around the free-mode gameplay. Also, the review of previous battles with a specific type of rule set is one of my favorite tips that helps me constantly improve my performance in the arena.

The rental market adds considerable firepower to your team, whatever league you are fighting in, for a higher rank.

Your strategies are going to cripple your opponent's line faster than most newbies if you spend time combining valuable cards and rent key warriors, as cheaply as possible, you need to win your battle.

Social groups on the internet offer content exclusively curated in certain cases for Splinterland gamers. Be careful, though, there are multiple similar community groups built to trick you.

I invite new players to join all official groups, so they speed up their progression in the game, whether it is the financial part, the battle raking, or both.

Telegram and Discord are the perfect place to ask questions and get accurate answers from experienced players without too much delay.
