Take pictures for memory sake.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Some of us are not photogenic, and most of us are camera shy, so we try to avoid anything that puts us anywhere near a camera, but sometimes we just have to appear in a photo or two for the sake of memories. You might forget the day, event, or occasion, but whenever you come across those photos, you find yourself smiling and remembering how everything went down. It is even more exciting if the event or occasion came with a funny experience. To date, I have photos on my phone that make me laugh whenever I see them, and I can delete every other photo but not them.

The photo above is one of the ones that leave me laughing at myself. Here, I sneaked out of school to attend a birthday party in a different state entirely without my parents knowledge. After partying, I boarded a bus where the driver almost killed us all since he was sleeping and driving. That journey was not a funny one, but telling the story now leaves me laughing like hell. The way myself and other passengers kept shouting Jesus and praying in our hearts, I was sitting in the front seat, so the other passengers said it was my duty to keep him awake.

I took this photo at the park before I boarded the bus. Sometimes I ask myself if this would have been the last and most recent photo of me if things had gone sideways.

The photo above was taken a few months ago at a friend's village. I went to experience a masquerade festival for the second time after a very long time. Masquerade festivals are always fun and memorable. Growing up in the northern part of my country has stopped me from experiencing my culture and what it is like, so with every opportunity I get, I try to participate and have a little experience and all that. It was an all day and all night event; watching the masquerades display and how they paid respect to the elders of the village was a sight to behold.

The same night, we spent time with my friend's grandmother, and she told us a lot we did not know about the Biafran war. The next morning, she took us to a river with a broken bridge, saying it was blown during the war. Touring the village was quite memorable; the photo reminds me of everything.

Here we were opportuned to practice in the field for the first time. Ever since we gained admission, it has been stories upon stories, just theories, and little or no practical at all. The opportunity to finally practice field work and be away from school came with a lot of excitement. Looking at the photo brings back memories of how excited and anxious we were when it was announced we would be leaving school for field work.

I hardly take photos, and when I manage to, I always treasure them, as I don't know when I will get to take another one.

Thanks for reading my post.

Maybe you should make it a habit to take photos more, you will cherish them later hahaha.

They say a man should be sitting close to the drivers instead of women to motivate the driver, keep them entertained, not distract him, and as well keep them from sleeping at the wheel. You couldn't keep your driver from sleeping lol 😂 thank God you guys are all alive and unhurt.
