A BIG BREAK

My first big break as a radio presenter was like a dream. I did not really have anything serious to do that day, or should I say I was not supposed to work that day, but I went to work. I started working in the radio station during my intern days ( two hundred level and three hundred level ) in the university; I actually just entered there because my school mandated us to be there to get a good score for good grades, which was the right thing to do.

Then, on this day, I walked into the radio house, and I heard a particular voice from the speaker outside. I fell in love with the voice; I decided to go see who was talking. It is a rule that if you are not called in or you do not have a program, your program going on you are not allowed to go into the studio so I just peeped from the outside since it has glass as walls and I saw this man in his mid-forties speaking so eloquently (in pidgin ) yes he was a pidgin presenter at that time until he left the country. Immediately, I resolved to start building my career there, and then, I approached him and talked about i,t, and he agreed that was how I started talking on air the very next day, which was not supposed to be so. It was supposed to take a period of six months or one year to be able to sit and talk into that mic.

I worked as a co-anchor with him for a few months before he relocated outside the country and I miss him, I do call him my radio daddy ❤️ he is practically the best man anyone would work with, I have worked with several other people after him but I still insist that he is the best man you could ever work with. Then something happened to the person I was working with as a co-anchor, his mum died and he had to go to her burial he is the first son and the anchor's seat was vacant for the some days which was not supposed to be so because the program was failing and it's not appropriate for a program to fail.

On the second day, I still went to work and it was almost time for the shift but I couldn't do anything because I am a student presenter and there was no order to go ahead with the show so I just sat there, mind you I went to work because it's a rule that even though something comes up, be it a technical issue or lack of directives you are still meant to be at work to sign the register. I sat down there contemplating whether to be the good girl that I am or defile orders and run the show after much contemplating I decided to run the program on that day it was a two-hour program it wasn't easy but I was able to run through with it not without recording and sending to my radio daddy for mistakes and error checks.

After that day, I was waiting for a query or suspension letter, which did not come to date, and that was how I started running programs and shows on my own for hours; honestly, it was not easy, and it is not as easy as it seems, but God is helping me.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. See you soon. 🤗

peace out ✌️
