I think I have said this before in my days in secondary school. To be precise I only received a cane for failing mathematics or not being able to buy a particular book required for the term. I never really loved mathematics or should I say the fear of mathematics is the beginning of wisdom 😉 it's not as if I can't really do anything when it comes to mathematics but I'm so scared of it and my mathematics teacher then picked interest and started teaching me still I was stressing this man and making his efforts look futile.

Sincerely speaking his efforts where not a waste cause it helped me when I left that school but not without many canes that man flogged sense into me 😊 and when he left the school I became my old self afraid of mathematics. The second time I received a cane was when my class went to fight a senior class and the teacher came and flogged the whole of my class including those who didn't join in the “rebellious act” according to him.

The third time ever I got caned and it was painful was when I got caned for not doing my assignment, mind you I'm a cry baby but that particular day I received 14 strokes of the cane but I did not cry even me I was surprised at myself that I didn't cry. The third time I received cane was when I left my class and went to a senior class to go sit with them and I didn't know my civic teacher was in class and she just walked into the class, called my name and started canning me I felt it cause there were marks on my body of course I cried. Later she called me and told me that the reason why she flogged me was because she saw I was a good girl and thought I was going astray. I think that was the last time I was canned.

Now I don't agree with primary pupils being canned and also you canning a child because the parents could afford materials for smooth study. Some schools even agree to children being flogged because they haven't paid their fees. I'm not saying its good that the haven't payed their fees but please talk to their parents and tell them what's going on the kids know nothing in my terms I call it “torture”.As for senior secondary school students they are grown to an extent and could be held accountable for any of their actions but the primary school kids you talk to their parents.

Something happened two years ago. Although I regretted doing it, I was happy at that moment, what happened you may ask? My nephews (twin boys) I know can be mischievous but here's what happened. They ganged up and beat up a boy in their class kindergarten kids o 🤣 and when their teacher thought of a punishment she brought the both of them outside and tied them up, poured water on them and flogged them mercilessly and when I had that I got angry left what I was doing and went to the school only to meet my mum there cause my elder sister who is their mother was out of town.

Then one of the teachers asked my mum to go home or she would cane her just the same way she caned her grandchildren that was when I became really angry and told her to try it if she can walk in that area freely 😞 I personally will look for or wait for her to beat her the way she beat my nephews like thieves. My mum managed to resolve the whole issue, it was later I found out that that child's parents are among the school financiers. Wow well played, although I vowed not to do that again cause I wouldn't speak well of me.

In all I would say canning a child as a school teacher depends on the class and the offense committed by that kid or maybe teen.
