Entry for Reflection Hunters Contest
Hello, my dear people of the @shadowhunters community. This is another amazing weekend filled with sweet moments of life. This is my entry for the #shadowhunters smash contest round #322.
I entered my garden on a calm afternoon while the sun was bathing everything in its warm, golden hue. I stopped at the edge of the terrace, letting my eyes roam over the well-known scenery as I felt the soft breeze brush against my skin.
My eyes were drawn to the flowers initially. A lovely bed of daisies and brilliant marigolds floated gently in the wind. I bent over to have a closer look at them. Their long, thin shadows danced across the ground, following the path of the light. The rich orange colour of the marigolds appeared even more striking when compared to their black outlines. The edges of each petal were crisply defined, forming a tiny, dynamic pattern on the soil below.
I got up and moved in the direction of the mango tree, whose wide leaves were creating an uneven pattern of shadows on the lawn. With its limbs laden with the promise of ripe fruit, the tree towered proudly over the ground. Approaching, I observed how the shadows cast by the leaves blended together to form an intricate mosaic that moved in response to even the smallest wind. I held out my hand and let the soft light brush across my flesh. The contrast between the sun's warmth and the shaded areas' chill served as a tactile reminder of nature's duality.
A short distance away, the pear tree was decorated with clusters of tiny white blossoms on its slender limbs. Fascinated by the way its shadows danced on the ground, I walked up to it. It seemed like a watercolour painting because the shadows cast by the blossoms were softer and their edges were blurry.
The branches were shaken by a light wind, and the shadows began to move like waves in a quiet sea. I was mesmerised as I watched a single petal gently fall. A second later, its shadow appeared, leaving a silent trail behind it.
I positioned myself beneath the mango tree and took a comfy seat, resting against its robust trunk. I was astounded by how my garden's shadows and reflections seemed to tell a tale about every little detail as I took in my surroundings. The mango tree, with its elaborate, constantly-changing mosaic; the pear tree, with its delicate, fleeting motifs; and the flowers, with their vivid, lively patterns.
The shadows lengthened and became softer at the edges as the sun descended lower in the sky. I became aware that I had developed a stronger bond with my surroundings by watching these seemingly little exchanges between light and shadow. Every reflection and shadow served as a reminder of the delicate equilibrium found in nature and as a moment of beauty fleetingly caught in the interaction of
I glanced at my garden one last time before heading back inside, now that the sun had sunk and it was glowing warmly.
