Mine! Mine! Mine!
Yep, when I saw this week's theme for our beloved SMAP contest, this post's title immediatly came to my mind. Trust me, you'll understand why pretty soon!
So, this week's theme is Hungry Bird; and... do you remember the movie "Finding Nemo"? And these cuties?
If you haven't seen the movie - shame on you! - there's a fun scene where a flock of seagulls is staring at what could be their next meal and each one starts to shout "Mine! Mine!"... and it perfectly fits this setting!
The coastal town of Essaouira, in Morocco, has a well known fishing port. Here, fish is sold right out of the boats, as fresh as it gets; for the delight of humans, and cats, and seagulls!
As the fisherman prepared the fish, the leftovers were set aside, and the local seagull gang was ready for the assault; and they weren't quiet about it!
Truth be told, humans weren't that disturbed by their presence either. It's a fun show to witness all the fuss at the port, with seagulls screaming their lungs out amidst all the movement of the fisherman.
Seagulls are by far the most common species here; apart from the ones trying to fill their bellies at the port, hundreds more were flying around, either with their bellies full or trying to find more eating spots. Judging by the amount of activity here, it probably wasn't too hard of a task (as I found out not long after). And with all the featheredfriends present, I was even able to take a lucky action shot!
Near the shore, I found a couple more hungry birds. But I didn't dare to get any closer, since one of the gang members had a really sinister look!
"This is OUR stuff, human... move along, move along!" 😁

Ahahahah exactly those! :)))
Haha, well, it's just super photos that are very suitable on the subject. Brazen hungry seagulls climb just to grab a piece.
They were having a blast here, food available everywhere!
The seagull looks very hungry, even though it is starving, its charm is still stunning
LOL. You had fun time there. I can imagine all the fuss and noise the seagulls are making. But they are not stupid and know better where free food is. 😃
I definitely did, and want to explore more of the country! And yes, they're not stupid at all... ;)
