A Surprise gift.....W.E #91.

A gift is a voluntary transfer of something valuable from one person to another without expecting anything in return. They are given to show gratitude, affection or appreciation. The most random gift i have ever received is a blender used for blending different kind of food items ,like beans, tomatoes,fruit. e t c .

This gift came when i least excepted it. It happened four months ago at the state local government meeting i usually attend. it was another time to step down and hand over the post to the newly elected committee members. After leading for three years and i was part of the old committee acting as their secretary.

The chairlady requested that all the women should come and join her in her place of worship for aThanksgiving service by 9am the women turn up for the service, even though i personally find it a little bit difficult before i could locate the worship center.

She also picked a dress code for the service, it was after the normal church service that we were called upon for the thanksgiving, the women came out to show their gratitude to their creator.

After the service we went down to the hall we usually gathered at for the meeting , since the sun was hot, a light refreshment was served which was a local drink called kunu prepared from guinea corn ,ginger ,tiger nut, and groundnut . Soaked together blended and seived, most of the women took theirs with milk even though it is optional.

We started with a word of prayer,followed by the welfare of the members, followed by reading the last minute that was held at the last meeting, adoption was made,

Then the agenda of the day was discussed. Then they collected different kinds of contributions and dues , those that where absent were noticed. finally when the meetings was over, the chair lady stood up and gave a speech of gratitude on how the creator took over and saw her and her team through the three years of service, Without any stain. Requesting that her creator who saw her and her team through, through out the three years will see the incoming committee through also, and they will finish well.

After that drinks and food was shared , while everyone was enjoying their meal , the chairlady stood up and said she had gift for her comitee members, i thought it was just a simple gift of handkerchief or bath soap.

But no ,to my surprise i saw her bringing out blenders she gave one each to all those who worked with her during her tenure. And she also brought out some dozen of plates and trays and shared it between the non commitee members, We were so happy and blessed her with a word of prayers. Personally i was so happy because i have been saving for some months now to make sure i purchase a blender since the last one i had got spoilt. This was a welcome
