I'm always forgetting

Hi, everyone!

Welcome to the last featured contest of the week. I believe all the topics were a blessing to us. I learned a lot from these contests, and I can attest to you that it has blessed me, I don't know for you.

To begin with, forgetfulness is the inability to retain or recall information, tasks, or events at a particular time, and this practice is influenced by many factors, including age, circumstances, medical conditions, and many more factors that could contribute to it.

However, this shows how imperfect we are, and it reveals the reality of our personality on earth; it is also a natural phenomenon that is often considered a normal part of human existence or experience. We all experience many occasions and we can't blame ourselves most of the time.

Mothers and those of us in the kitchen do forget to add the important condiment in the soup and because of that particular thing, the whole soup becomes tasteless to everyone. It happened to me before. I cooked our local food, called in our local dialect, ekpanwukwo, which everyone knows with all the ingredients in the soup won't give you the best taste the soup demands. So I forgot to put crayfish. Do you know how this can add taste to the soup? I forgot, and it was plenty, for that matter. I pounded it in a mortar and pushed it under the utensil cabinet. It looked hidden to my eye, and it escaped my memory, too. After cooking and almost putting the soup down, unexpectedly, my mum came into the kitchen and tasted the soup. It was not giving the way it was supposed to, and she asked if I had put crayfish; I shouted; no wonder my soup was tasting anyhow without any impact on my tongue. My soup was ready, and I couldn't put it on fire for a long time again just to remain fresh; I put the fire off and the soup down and put the crayfish. I stirred it and allowed it to cook for some minutes before putting it down finally. Everyone in the house was hungry; they had to wait for some minutes for the crayfish to stabilize in the soup since I put it late.

My forgetting affected everyone in the house; the worst part was that nobody had breakfast, so the soup was supposed to be our brunch, and we all ate it later in the evening as dinner. Everybody was like, what is this one? That you have been keeping everyone in the house hungry since morning because of my mistake, and it affected them? I had to apologize to everyone who seemed angry, and some of them didn't have money to get snacks to hold their stomach. It wasn't intentional, but it was a natural occurrence that came in, and I couldn't help but delve into it.

It's a normal thing, forgetting small things can ruin life. Just like in the medical field. A doctor leaving a syringe in the stomach of the patient during surgery is deathly, and it's painful to the patient because they need to go back and operate it again, it's very risky and it comes to this stage, and that's why a medical student you don't need to be forgetful to this stage of life, it can kill.

Thank you for reading through.

It happens a lot of time when cooking. I have cooked and forget to add groundnut oil in my concoction rice. It was almost done when I remembered and adding the oil could ruin it, I had to eat it like that even though I forced myself as I didn't want to throw it away. It's normal we forget things as we aren't perfect but when it becomes something that happens every time, that is not good.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I would have cooked another rice or I preserved it for another day. Omor it can be painful. Forgetting is always bad, especially when it comes to important things; it can be discouraging. Thank you for reading.

You just reminded me of my kitchen mistakes. I usually forget those details, and sometimes, it's already late before I can make amends. It happens to the best of us.

I was going to ask, is akpang a soup? I've had it a couple of times, and it's very tasty, I must say, but I thought it's like...say, porridge.

So many guys don't joke with breakfast. I would always do that for my husband before he goes to work or anyway.
