Los héroes de las carreteras, así llamábamos a los camioneros cuando nos llamaban y decían, pendiente con la gandola o camión que ya salió para el Estado Bolívar.

Cuando, trabajaba en una institución del Estado, estaba en la Unidad de Logística y tenía que estar pendiente de las gandolas o camiones de abastecimiento de algún producto que se solicitaba, nos avisaban que habían salido y teníamos que estar pendiente, por dónde venía la gandola o camión, desde Caracas o del lugar de distribución, de dónde saliera el camión con mercancía se le hacía seguimiento y cuando llegaba la noche, tenía que estacionar en los peajes, alcabala o donde estuviera resguardado el camión, productos y personal.

En la tarde nos comunicamos con el chofer y nos indicaba dónde venía, le autorizamos que se estacionara en la alcabala y se presentará con los militares y estos le prestaban apoyo, estos desde que cenaban se iban a descansar en sus hamaca, se les autorizaba salir a las 5:00 am, del día siguiente, sino había comunicación, ya sabían que esa era la hora de salida, ahora bien, cuando llegaba la señal o nos comunicaba con ellos, ya deberían de estar en camino, se monitoriaba el recorrido de la mercancía, por lo tanto, la comunicación con el camionero tenía que ser a diario, poco a poco, los camioneros los conocíamos y tratábamos de atenderlos bien, porque, ellos también eran nuestros compañeros de trabajo, cuando teníamos que llevar mercancía otro lugar de la zona, también teníamos la comunicación con ellos y nuestro mejor producto que llevaba el Camión, era el chófer y sus ayudantes.
