Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 185

avatar

Hey there my Hive friends and followers!

Welcome to the 185th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)

I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.

The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.

The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)

Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.

I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:

Only one entry (photo) per person per round.

The photo must be yours and not older than one week.

Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.

You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round. If you want to create a separate post as your entry, you can do that but please always remember to submit your entry in the form of a comment here in this post as well. I only check the entries submitted here as comments.

Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. I also give some smaller upvotes on the other entries too so that all participants get rewarded for their engagement.

I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)

To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:

Usually, for this challenge, I try to capture scenes and places that feature nothing but nature but I decided to make a little exception this time. Sure, nature still comprises like 90% of this picture but you can see some buildings far away in the background too. That´s actually the "skyline" of the Prague neighborhood of Stodulky where we live now. The place where I took that shot from is called the Hemr´s Rocks and it´s one of my favorite natural spots to go for some nice relaxing moments and contemplation. The rocks are actually pretty high and not exactly easily accessible, which is why I´m usually alone up there. It was cloudy when I took the picture a few days ago but I somehow liked the dramatic feel of the scenery. I hope you do too :)

In the last round, we had 11 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

@stayoutoftherz with this entry from Austria:

YpihifdXP4WNbGMdjw7e3DuhJWBvCw4SfuLZsrnJYHEpsqZFkiGGNCQN4FXmtc2Rxv5uwm65fs3gon6kUQRH2pXe3EEbkGwjQ7B2tshd1s1sTj2zKDfWq78qPZY5KLjCo4gq6nkBthLJ162LKNqkQJgnFG7xqVgsSkHh1AaHJLrS.jpg

From my hiking trip yesterday to one of my favorite forests, near the mount "Dürrenstein" in Lower Austria, I had written about this already here.

@fantagira with this entry from the UK:

That’s a nice and easy challenge for me to participate. I take nature pictures every day during my walks and in my garden. This one here was taken yesterday. I went for my usual lunchtime walk around the neighbouring streets and marina. I sat down on the bench with my colleagues towards the and of my walk and I noticed a few more Dahlia flowers just opened up their blooms and no matter how often I see them or picture them, they always blow my mind with their perfectly shaped by the nature balls of blooms, showing the beautiful Fibonacci spiral. Location: England, UK.

@suzana72 with this entry from Montenegro:

A visit to Montenegro, a little vacation and enjoying the coastal climate and the smell of pine trees by the coast... I caught this scene yesterday, while I was exploring the way to a beach, which was hidden among pine trees, which reached the coast itself... A view of Sutomore, where I am currently staying.

Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)

I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.

Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!

I am in a rural area, as you mentioned in the article, there are many ecosystems where we can appreciate the spontaneous beauty of nature, there I share those beautiful flowers that were captured in an improvised way, I don't know their name but I appreciate their beauty.

So long, successes to all, have a great week.

Good morning @phortun, without a doubt these flowers are beautiful I had the opportunity to photograph them at the beginning of this week, in a space near the university nursery that is located in my locality, geographically in Santa Bárbara of the state Zulia Venezuela.

Have a great week.

Here you go! Straight from Picos de Europa, a national park in northern Spain. The lakes of Covadonga are one of the park's crown jewels, and it's easy to see why: glaciar lakes, surrounded by nature. Too many people nowadays for my liking, but I guess it's inevitable in this time of the year.

Hi @phortun, this would be my first time joining a challenge here.

This is my original photo taken during our seaborne patrolling. An entrance to a cave in the ocean with clear blue water that will go up during high tide.

This was taken last September 5 (tuesday) and located at Barangay Muabog, Tabogon, Cebu, Philippines.

Cought this one on the top of the mountain Dobratsch (2166m), Austria, last week. An amazing piece of mountain - wonderful views, splendid hiking - we took such harsh paths that we met ZERO hikers 🤣
On the left, there is a chapel, in the background you could admire Slovenian Triglav National park.

See you on the trail😉

Awesome 🤩 Thank you so much for featuring my dahlia flowers 🌺

For this week I had a plan to add a mushroom from my Thursday’s walk to a nearby forest. I was looking for some edibles, but there were not many mushrooms at all, which was a bit surprising after all the rain we had this summer. Sadly adding pictures has been very temperamental through Ecency these days, so maybe I’ll add some next week 😉

My pleasure, that was a stunning shot :)

Haha I can imagine that you guys from Poland are as passionate mushroom pickers as us Czechs :D I guess that you know that this outdoor hobby is considered weird in some European countries. But we love it, right? I do! :D But just like you, not much success this year so far... :/

I have heard that Ecency has had some issues lately. I use hive.blog and that works just fine...

Thank you ☺️

Yes, some people look weird when I say I eat Forest mushrooms, but there are also quite a few Brits that go mushroom foraging. I remember posting my mushrooms on fb once and tons of people asking where did I find them or said they used to go foraging too, but can’t remember which ones to pick 😁

It seems that Ecency has solved their problems with pictures for the time being. The thing is that I mainly use my mobile for posting and commenting and Ecency has an app that is usually perfect for it… when it works 😉

I didn’t take many good pictures. The light was not that great already in the evening, but I’ll attempt the next one 😉😁
