My favorite Memories of my Mother and I

If there's any elderly woman in the world I love talking with then it's my mother. Whenever we're together, I feel so comfortable, and we can chat for hours without ever running out of things to talk about. She's very kind, caring, and disciplined.

I have so many memories of my mother and I, both the good ones and the bad ones. But I’ll share just few with you for some reasons. Mostly that these are the ones I would never forget in a hurry.

There was a time when I thought about leaving home because I felt like I was being pampered too much. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to handle living on my own since I didn't know how to do many things that girls my age could do. I remember visiting my aunt when I was 17, and I tried to prepare a nice meal and wash her husband's jeans. Unfortunately, I wasn't very successful, and my aunt looked at me with pity in her eyes. It was so embarrassing. Even though the jeans weren't as clean as she wanted them to be, must she pity me for that?
I hated being pitied.

After that holiday, I decided to learn how to wash and cook well. It wasn't easy since I was in a boarding school and lived with my uncle who had a cook and other workers around. So, I started visiting my mom whenever I could and got close to the cook to learn from her.
My mom let me cook whenever I was home. Sometimes I would add too much salt, and other times the food would be tasteless. But she never complained. Instead, she corrected me and encouraged me to cook more often.
I was always happy whenever she swallowed these not-so-nice meals with smiles, she never let it discourage me.

During this time, I was eager to learn, and my mom taught me more than I could have imagined in such a short period. She not only taught me culinary skills but also helped me grow as a person. I used to speak too directly and unintentionally hurt people, but she helped me become wiser and mentally mature. People even started attributing it to my name:), saying that people who answers Josephine are always more mature than their age. Hehe.

I fully understand the manner of love that mothers have for their children. There's an unbreakable connection between them, where any pain felt by the child is felt even more by the mother. We may misapprehend their love as a child, but as we grow older, we come to truly appreciate and understand the immense love our mothers have for us.

I can't imagine who I would be without my mother's presence in my life. She has shaped me into the person I am today, and I am very grateful for her.

I always tell people, that if they don’t show their mother how much she means to them now, they may regret it when she’s no more.
A mother's love is priceless, and it extends beyond just the woman who gave birth to you. Anyone who plays a motherly role in your life deserves to be loved and cherished.
