Don't mess with her!

This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography community is "Character Portraits". I had a few games that feature characters but none of them fit what I wanted. I play Rocket League which has no character just cars and egg people cheering from the stands...lol.

I also play Minetest, an open-source clone of Minecraft but no one likes the blocky expressionless characters from Minecraft let alone Minetest which are not good either. All the other retro games that I love are just few pixels so they were no good either. Which left me with... Yes, you guessed it! theHunter: Call of the Wild.

Now this was quite a challenge too as the game is first person only and the only third person view you get is when you are riding your ATV or you are in multiplayer. Oh, yes! The multiplayer was a good choice and it has been some time since I played with @bemier too. So, it was a perfect choice for me.

We played on the Cuatro Colinas Game Reserve.

She doesn't look too happy in the above shot; how can she be? All she wants is to hunt and this greed makes her anxious. So, she was off the hill in no time and went to look for some poor animals.

She was carrying a rangefinder which helps her accurately get the distance of her prey. Pretty handy one!

We found a good spot to take some more pictures and listen to any activity from animals. She looks confident in this pose!

It was time for some archery training...right?

Her dog, Köpek, looks a bit worried seeing her holding the bow...lol. Maybe he has doubts about her bowing skills. Fortunately, the game doesn't allow friendly fire or shooting at your own dog and more importantly me!

But she is a good stalker (both stalking prey in and outside of the game...right, Beril?)

Surely, you don't want to mess with a lady who can hold a rifle like that and shoot!

Lucky for us, her targets are just deer for now. This was a beautiful red deer she shot. We both saw this one together but my rifle was not loaded (a rookie mistake) and she grabbed this opportunity and had a good shot. (But turns out this was significantly injured by one of my previous shots, which I thought I missed completely but we found him again...lol)

But not only rifles, she can handle smaller weapons too. And way off the ground as well.

We shot a few more animals and eventually reached an open field. This map has a lot of them and they are good hunting grounds for the Roe deer and some birds.

We reached a big lake and from there we could see the hill that we started from. This was a good journey!

We switched the map and went to the snowy Medved-Taiga. Both of us changed our outfits as well to blend with the environment. I am not sure if the outfit has any effect on how well the animals can sense us, if it doesn't, there should be!

The outfit looked so funny and we had a good chuckle.

You are mostly hidden if you are prone on the ground. This ghillie suit blends very well with the snow and it is hard to spot from a distance.

We didn't hunt much in this reserve but it was a fun session. The session ended with an unfortunate crash of game on my end. Thank you @bemier for enduring that torture and not killing me with your bow. (And remember that pheasant? I shot it 😜)
