Having fun with ATVs in theHunter: Call of the Wild

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography community is "Rides of Video Games" and it's perfect for me as I have a versatile vehicle in theHunter: Call of the Wild.

It is an open-world hunting simulator and if you don't have a vehicle, you would be walking for a long time in the reserves to go from one place to the other. That's why I bought the DLC which gave the All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to be used in the game. This has made going from one place to the other easier and faster. However, I don't use it that often as it comes with its disadvantages.

The biggest is the loud noise it makes, which spooks all the animals hundreds of meters away, making it unsuitable for your everyday hunting trips. But it is a handy vehicle when you are on a quest or want to unlock that one far-away outpost.

Once you buy the DLC, it becomes available to you for free in the game. You just have to go to the nearby outpost or camp and place an order from the Store there and it will be delivered just next to you.

You can choose three different colour options. I love the bright red one as it is easier to find after I have met with my inevitable accidents.

I choose it when I am going to explore unseen places or on quests which are non-hunting related.

Do you want to go to the top of a big mountain in Silver Ridge Peaks? This ATV got you covered!

And later when you are at the top and want to have extra fun, you can make it jump from there or go down the slope uncontrollably fast. Be warned, you will get hurt...lol

Believe it or not, in the next picture, I am still seated on the seat of that vehicle. (This changed when I hit the ground and almost died, but it looked cool when I did a side flip...lol)

If the player was not sitting on the seat, the tyres would just go back to a straight position and the camera would not be following the ATV too.

But there are roads and dirt tracks made for it where its speed is the maximum.

But sometimes it can get stuck too. Look at this one, just don't ask me how I managed to get up there. I tried my best to get out of this mess but I couldn't

One of the interesting things I found was this tunnel. It was straight as an arrow and you could see the light at the end of the tunnel. So, I tried to go deep inside but it led me out of the map. The game tells you to go back and if you don't listen it will teleport you back.

But on the other side of this railway track was a big bridge over the river. The sun was setting behind me over the hill and I moved further along the railroad to see it just over the hill.

That was risky as my ATV was going on at the maximum speed and it constantly tried to go towards one side. Falling from this height would be a certain death but I didn't try it. Now I am regretting why I didn't jump from here into the river...lol

River reminded me of another strange property of this vehicle. The developer doesn't allow us to go in deep water and if someone tries to go inside the game teleports you back to the ground. But you know what happens if we go into the water riding our ATV?

It gets destroyed and catches fire.

See! I drove it straight into the river but the game teleported both me and the ATV back to the land. I didn't take any damage but the ATV is completely damaged and it catches fire. Well, this vehicle has durability in the game too and if you damage it enough and durable gets to zero it catches on fire. But driving it into the water makes it unusable and catches on fire? It doesn't make any sense...lol

It was time for more experimentation. You can push it and I tried to push it in the water to see if the flames go out in the water.

Nope! They didn't. You can argue that it is not completely in the water. But trust me I pushed it further back but the flame didn't go out. But after a couple of minutes or so they went out.

Here is a cool-looking underwater shot for you. I just had half a second or so to take this shot before the game teleported me back to the land. It turned out to be amazing after three or four tries.

By the end of this session, I think I loved the camo green colour better. It looks nice, especially on the maps with a lot of greens.

I remember the first time I drove these vehicles. It was such a relief. From walking everywhere to now having something which can help unlock the maps faster and do the boring quests, which I was doing back at the time, it sure is such a time saver. Even with all of its flaws, it is a must DLC in this game, especially if you own a lot of reserves.

Thanks for reading...

Until next hunt...

It would be super fun to ride it over a frozen lake. Just hope the ice won't crack.

Absolutely, the ice cracking could be a huge downside to that

driving it into the water makes it unusable

This makes sense but,

and catches on fire?

It doesn't really makes sense, lol. Great captures, btw.

Amazing participation, you have done a good job in your captures, although I found the part of your bike underwater funny.

Seeing a motorcycle in the water is crazy and strange, but having it catch fire in the water is out of this world, Imao.

Dude, remind me never travel contico in any vehicle I've seen that you have a bad reputation with holes of dubious depth and now with fire and water hahaha hey, but no one doubts your hunting skills
