My Hair, My Pride!!! Loh #190

I started making my hair fully in the year 2012 and that was when I gained admission to the College of Education, a program meant for those who want to go into the line of teaching. This program is for 3 years after which they are qualified to be a teacher and many still have to further to obtain a degree certificate. My mom was always the one making my hair when I was a small girl and there was a time, my Dad had to force me to cut the hair because I used to cry due to the pain. That was the only time I cut my hair, and in the year 2012, I started my hair fully and ever since then haven't cut it.

My hair was longer than this before and I was able to maintain it to get to this stage. I am always proud of it especially since it's been 12 years that I began the journey. People would always wish they had my kind of hair and how long it is. I use to smile when I walk among people, while some would murmur with words like, "Wow, this lady's hair is so long," some would say I should give them some from it and jokingly would tell them I could have given them if it's possible. But will I? My hair is my pride.

A woman's hair is her beauty and many times I have seen how my beauty comes out whenever I make my hair and this has made me enjoy having different styles of hair on me to bring out the beauty. Some have appreciated the fact that I love to make my hair every time. This is why a lot of people cut their hair just because they cannot continue to keep up with managing it or spend lots of money to make new hair.

However, some ladies cut their hair, not because they don't have the money or cannot maintain it, they do that for fun as lots of them enjoy having a low cut. They love to rock low-cut hair and tint it with different colours and that is one way they have fun rocking such hair. I was asked if I would love to cut my hair but said no as I love my long hair and that is what brings me happiness especially when people compliment how long and bold my hair is. My sister once told me that if I cut my hair, I would be like a chicken and look ugly. I told her nothing they say can stop me from cutting the hair if I wanted to, but I just decided to leave my hair like this.

While I have heard so many times that when I have my children, especially girls, they would take my hair, I still don't believe that because, I don't wish my hair to be short but to remain this long and even more if it's possible. My future girls would have their long hair just like their mother, so, we would all have to rock our beauties forever.

While I love my hair and do not plan to cut it, I find it hard to sit for long in the salon to make it. My hair is a full one and it takes hours to get it done and for someone like me, I hate to sit down for hours on a spot. This is why I go for big braids that have just 5-7 rolls and if I decide to make my natural hair, I go for just 5 rolls to be plaited on my hair so everything won't exceed an hour.

Then another thing is I feel so lazy loosening my hair. But when the hair isn't much, I try to lose it faster than having tiny braids on me that would take days to finish loosening it.

I am also bad at styling my hair. A lot of ladies would wish they had just like my hair and that they do not have to keep visiting the salon but to style it in different ways, this is something I cannot do. I can only pack my hair in one style and I am good to go. The best style I love whenever I do not make my hair is the doughnut style, where you pack your hair up and then roll the tips round like a doughnut.

In all, I rock my hair and do not wish to cut it. I maintain my hair to look beautiful. By tomorrow, I shall be making a new hair which I found the style on Pinterest and will be visiting the salon to get it done.
