My Wednesday at La Defense, Almere Netherlands - My Treatment Update
I have been involved in a lot of activities for example: Traveling but that doesn't mean my real world is changing. I feel that way because no matter how many good opportunities I get or get a chance to be involved in good things, the real circumstance is constant. I used to believe that when something good happens in life, it reflects on your present and changes the situation a bit, but my current condition is almost the same. I haven't talked about my treatment recently because there is nothing to talk about. Behind the scenes, my treatment is ongoing and every day I fight with myself to feel good and positive. Trauma and depression is real, a sickness that consumes a human completely and push them into darkness. They come and go, like a flashback; you completely forget about the reality. Those flashbacks drag you to the past and throw you there. You are consumed by the darkness and emotions, and when you come back to reality, you feel nothing but emptiness.
My depression eats me in a different way every day. How do I figure it out? Well, currently all of my therapy sessions and treatment process is intense. I cry a lot while describing each and every emotion in front of an unknown individual; my doctor and psychologist. I cannot let my emotions go instead I keep them locked inside me and let them consume me every day. I feel normal whenever my surrounding changes. But like I said, in real it's not always possible to change constant surroundings and conditions.
After my Poland trip, I had to attend a lot of appointments and one of them was medical evaluation or evaluation of my psychotic issues. The refugees who take psychotic or psychiatric treatment, all have to go through this evaluation because treatment costs are provided by the government. So, the government needs to know how you are doing and the details of your problem and treatment process. The assessment is done by the doctor but the uncomfortable fact is you don't know the doctor and explaining in front of some unknown is very difficult, especially about mental health. I don't know what kind of process is for locals or others living in the Netherlands.
La Defense - Office Building
The day arrived so quickly. Anyway, the location was somewhere near Almere Centrum so when I reached to the destination; I was kinda astonished to see the office complex.
A huge office complex with chromatic colors was in front of me. The color changes according to sunlight, and the facades of the buildings look different at different times of the day because of the use of chrome (reflective surface) colors or should I say metallic colors.
Before my appointment I didn't pay attention to details, I just walked towards the building for my appointment. I had no expectations from this assessment, I was honest about myself and that's it.
Well, get ready for a lot of photographs.
It is one building complex but it is designed in such a way that will make you feel you are within several buildings. An abstract rectangle form was designed in such a way that created not only courtyard spaces but also linear-shaped buildings/strip-shaped volumes. At first, I thought 2-3 linear-shaped rectangle buildings interlocked with each other and created multiple spaces. But later after seeing the entire complex, I figured out it was two strip-shaped volumes that were designed to create interesting courtyard spaces. source
To make it easier to understand I would say carving a rectangle form. For example: you have a rectangle shape form in front of you and when you start cutting the form, you create space and a small liner and several differently shaped forms will be created as well as different spaces. An architect plays with these forms and spaces and creates a large complex by joining or interlocking the forms to make the shape solid and uniform.
In this case, two interlocking strip-shaped volumes were chosen on the pentagonal site.
The construction of this complex started in 1999 and finished in 2004.
Outside of the building facades are silver aluminum facades. The facades that face the courtyards are made of glass wrapped with reflective foils that produce chrome metallic red, yellow, orange, and green colors from time to time depending on the sunlight. Mostly colors depend on the sun's position.
In the main courtyard, two sculptures are located, one is a tree and the other one is a human figure with a deformed head (that's what I understood). The complex is restricted and not open to tourists during office hours. But I think the complex is fully restricted and not open to tourists. This office building is a government building and many important offices from the government are located there. source
I walked there for some time, I was trying to feel the vastness of the space and building. I felt so small compared to the space and building. It was not a skyscraper but the design made it different and dynamic.
For architectural photography, this is a good example.
I not gonna drag my treatment progress in this post anymore, enjoy the photos if you cannot understand the design of this dynamic building because I am still trying to understand the design concept of this office building complex.

I know literally nothing about theory of architecture, however I really enjoy buildings in the Netherlands, especially these new spaces with metal and glass. It's more of an art than a building. And in this case I just enjoy colors. If I'd work here that one detail would probably lit me up on the start of each workday. Take care!
Architecture in the Netherlands is pretty interesting and diversified. For example, in Rotterdam city, the examples of modern architecture can be seen. Architects always come up with new ideas, even in Amsterdam South, I have seen pretty interesting highrises and office buildings. Colors and spaces can influence an individual's mood, so I would have a similar feeling as you about working there...

This is post from my last visit in Amsterdam. Third picture shows my favorite building I saw there. I'm not sure though if it's office or mixed use building.
This is exactly what I like there, not obvious, creative forms and playing with convention.
Hello, my friend!
It's good that you are under treatment. I hope they will be successful.
Are the buildings occupied?
Hang in there, @priyanarc !

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoThis is an office building and it is occupied. I went there during office hours and took these photos. It looks empty outside which was very strange in my opinion. Two Major and main government offices are located there...
Thank you dear for stopping by, I hope you are doing well...

Yes, it is a nice and interesting office building and very unique spaces as well. Thank you for reading my post...
One day your surroundings will change. I'm sure of it, and you will find the happiness you deserve.
What an interesting building. I honestly wouldn't have found my way out. They'd have to send a search party for me.
I hope so too...
Oh no, in the end, with the help of Google map, you eventually would have figured out the exit point :P
The complex looks huge but it is actually huge. My biggest concern is that those who work in the offices must be hard for them when they have to walk from one building to another for work purposes.
I remember when I had to move to another area to work, it was a bigger office. Not massive though. I was gobsmacked how many people emailed each other instead of popping next door. I thought idle buggers! 🙂
Those colours are soooo beautiful. Would have been cool to have some nice grassy patches in between I reckon. I just love grass haha.. Take care my friend. Lot's of love 🌻
Good point you wrote about greenery. After reading your comment I just realized that there is no green space or they didn't focus on the landscape. They have a huge courtyard which could be filled with green grass. I don't know why they didn't think about it...
Thank you for noticing such a good point...
🫂
That is one very interesting building.. indeed, I would think there are several of them. It's cool that it changes the color based on time of the day..
I'm not going to go into your health here, just want to let you know that I'm thinking of you 😊
Thanks, Martina, I know how much you like to see different architecture and history. Such kind of architectural building represents a city, Almere is a small city hence it has some cool unique modern designed building...
I know dear and I am also waiting to meet you again soon...
I am no expert on architecture or the styles of it but i know what I like and those buildings are so colorful and cool
I can only barely imagine the stress you have bene through and how hard it must be to open up to a doctor that you do not know
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
Thank you so much and happy to know that you liked this colorful world of architecture. It's a very interesting office building.
Have a nice week...

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoHow colorful and interesting are the views that these office buildings present.
Thank you for sharing, I would not have imagined that a construction like this one you show us existed.
