Qurator's Mischievous Mondays | Alternate Profession
Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!
This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.
Why Mischievous?
We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.

There is no doubt that if I could immediately gain the skills and knowledge for a new career, I would choose veterinary medicine.
Since childhood, I have always been passionate about animals, especially dogs, and the idea of being able to help care for their health and well-being. As a veterinarian, I would have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these animals, and it would be amazing if I could do that right away.
I have some regrets that I did not pursue this childhood dream. So much so that this year I have decided to take the entrance exam again and try to get into a college to fulfill this dream that has been kept inside.
All the very best. You definitely deserve this career
thanks!!
I would like to be a meh-thematician.
First and foremost, thank you for this amazing idea. I so love it! I am late for the Zombies but not too late to save my life with a little mischief.
Ok, so here's why I'd like to be a mathematician. I am not a maths person. It takes me some time to figure things out and to see the relations where others (=maths people) are quick-witted. I feel outsmarted by them. But that's ego. So that's not the best explanation.
Look, if you want to change the world and want to stand up for a better version of life, you have to face economists and business people. People who have gathered wealth and run the world because they can. People, who tell you that there is no such thing as a post-growth economy. That sustainability kills the business. That we need to upscale and make more revenue than the previous year. That our economy is going to collapse if we stop growing.
What they really mean is: They are not going to make the yields they expected. They might not become richer and stagnation means loss to them. Improvements to them are measured in assets gained. And being a mathematician I could just prove them wrong. I could use my skills within controlling, showing them that value can be generated within business and not only by increasing production and simultanuously reducing costs. That employees are a gain and not a loss in the business calculation. That people of my age (above 50) are not less valuable just because HR thinks they are too experienced and therefore too expensive. That the planet we live on is our biggest asset and should be calculated into every business proposal.
Besides all great mathematicians are philosophers and all great philosophers in my perception seem to be great mathematicians. Look at Wittgenstein for example. You need to be quick with your maths to understand where the underlying problem is. At least, that's what I believe. And if you look at the stoics, they are quite *au point * with everything.
Which brings me to my second most preferred profession, which I can still reach so it is not a what if but rather a what about now, even without maths but with life experience and lots of insight: I can still become a philosopher.

Nice theme. Firstly, congrats to all the winners. If ever I got a chance to prove my skills, that would be cooking and serving.
This is a sweet dish prepared by me. The outer layer is made of rice flour and the filljng inside is made of coconut and jaggery and finally wrapped in banana leaf. This can be eaten either by steaming or by frying in hot tawa.
When I was working, I used to cook everything hurriedly. But when I lost my job I got time to try new items. And my laboratory was my hubby and kids. Sometimes salt was more, or sweet was less or oil was more, but for all I had one lame excuse - this is how it should be to get the original taste and in return, I would get an angry stare from my children.
Interesting fact was, whenever guests arrive, my hubby and children request me not to try anything new.
Years are just rolling by and infact, today I could say Iam a good cook with salt n peer, sweet n sour done accordingly. This becomes more relevant when my children come from hostel, prefer only homely food.
I would like to become a doctor as I could help a lot of people.
At the moment we're having a lack of doctors in my country, both general practitioners and specialists. At the moment my job is more business related but helping my fellow humans would be awesome!
This is very easy! Certainly a master chef considering my passion for the diverse cuisine that I have had access to until today! I really enjoy trying local delicacies whenever I travel, I try to get off the tourist trail and get to know the locals' food!
Of course, having Italian roots, I grew up knowing their culture.
But that doesn't stop me from moving on to other cultures such as brasieira, which has an African influence and was adapted creating excellent delicacies like this, the white fish moqueca that we are cooking in a clay pot while drinking a typical chimarrão (Gaucho/Andean)
This contest reminds me of the movie The Matrix, where you were able to acquire specific skills in no time. In my main job, which I have already dedicated a large part of my life to the next, knowing that I can acquire new skills in a specific profession instantly, makes me very happy and, in my opinion, it would be a gift. As it is a gift, it would make this choice selfishly, I would choose something for my benefit. Helping others is a wonderful thing, however, having the possibility of realizing a lifelong dream is something extraordinary, which is why my chose to be an INDUSTRIAL CLIMBER. A profession that would guarantee me financial returns given the growing number of factories and buildings in urban areas, as well as other possibilities.
As a benefit, you would have the necessary skills for moments involving sports, fun, climb mountains, challenges and we can say that it is a professional area that "does everything to get move up in life".
