Qurator's Mischievous Mondays | Smelling Memories

Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!

This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.

Why Mischievous?

We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.

This week's theme : Smelling Memories

What is a smell that your don't often smell, but when you do it triggers a very special or not so special memory?

Appreciate your theme which reminds me of childhood memories from my mother's kitchen. The irresistible aroma of home made "biriyani" (an Indian non veg food made of spices).
Those days we hardly made this especially on festivals or when guest arrived. For me and my siblings Eid meant eating biriyani. And when guest arrived we were eagerly waiting for them to go so that we could eat the rest at the comfort of our home.

Hi

The smell of seaweed on the seashore is a smell that many people find unpleasant.

I associate this smell with going fishing with my father who passed away a few years ago.

Therefore, when I walk by the sea and smell dead seaweed, I remember the fishing trips with my father.

Regards.

The aroma that I smell reminds me of memories of when I ate salted fish because when I ate salted fish I was reminded of my parents who used to like salted fish and I sometimes remember it sadly because when we usually eat salted fish When we don't have money to buy chicken or meat

When you cut wood with an electric saw, the smell is very characteristic. This reminds me of when I built my house. It was right before the pandemic, we started in August 2019. It was a good time, and it will never go back to the way it was.

Even today I identify the smell when I walk down the street, even if I don't see any work I can tell that someone was working with wood. Hmm
