Women have the power! Community Contest #178 Ladies of Hive.

Hello hello beautiful ladies!

I haven't been on the platform for a long time (two years if my calculations are correct).

Mainly for work reasons, I had to stay away from this platform, which became my refuge during the pandemic.
Secondly, my health has been very poor, and I am currently on medical rest, so I thought:

Hey, how are Hive and the beautiful women of Hive?

So, here I am ♥️♥️♥️

To reinsert myself into the platform I thought about entering this week's contest, especially because the topic caught my attention, as it is something that I have thought a lot about during the pandemic and after as well, so here are my answers about it.

Women are multifaceted by nature.

Since time immemorial, we have been mothers, administrators, doctors, psychologists, cleaners, police officers, lawyers, and all within our home. Now in this era, in which we are more empowered in the workplace, we do all of this, both at home and work.

How can we NOT to be exhausted??

In my case, I am alone with my mother, and I have a job 24/7, with the following routine:

6 am: I get up. I bathe first, brush my teeth, get dressed, and then I take my coffee, several cups I might add.
7 am: depending on the need, I go to look for a 19lts bottle of water to drink at home.
8 am: I leave for work where the tasks awaiting for me range from managing the payroll and directing the orchestra, to mowing the bush and cleaning the bathrooms.
6 pm: back home and looking for dinner on the way if needed. Usually is a bag of bread and some Pepsi. (we have eggs and stuff at home to make a full dinner).
7 pm: I get home, have dinner, and if there is water on the pipes I start to wash some clothes.
9 pm: I check my work email in case they send me any urgent requests or requirements (believe or not, it happens).
10 pm: I go to bed and pray to God that I can get some sleep.

On weekends I go to the market, I help mom clean the house, I bathe the dog, and I finish washing what I didn't wash during the week, all between work tasks because they always make me do something.

After all this, and not counting the bank, paying the bills, going to the doctor, taking care of my mother, etc., I am breathless.

BTW, I take this opportunity to say that I greatly admire women who do this and more! YOU ARE THE BEST!!

Now, for the question at hand:

1️⃣ We women are known for carrying out several activities at the same time. Somehow we always balance our schedules to accomplish them all, even though sometimes that brings us excessive fatigue. My question is: what do you do when you feel exhausted? How do you regulate your physical, mental, and emotional state to be yourself again?

I sing, at my work, at home, on the street, I sing.

Sometimes at the top of my lungs, sometimes just in my head. I always try to make a place of peace and healing in my head while I fulfill my obligations. And when I am fortunate enough to have free time, I try to do something for myself, and for my mother too.
It can be cooking, going for a walk (as long as the heat and sun allow it), watching a movie or a television series, or simply sitting on the porch and talking.

However, I generally find peace in music, and that is why I sing, in English, in Spanish, in Korean, whatever, but I always keep some music in me to be my fuel for life.

50's Housewives

Regarding the second question, I will not go into much detail because I understand that it can be a somewhat complex and perhaps controversial topic. Every person in the world has their perspective and there are times when they are similar or completely opposite.

However, I must note that it is a topic that I have thought about a lot for a long time, as I said before and that is why I briefly detail the following:

2️⃣ What do you think about the phrase "𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭?" Do you agree with it? Or do you prefer the phrase "𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲." I would like to know what you think.

There is a saying that says "I can hit my family, but no one else." And it is very true, just as it is also true that within families people tend to take things to heart and that is where conflicts arise.
We have a free pass to do and undo because we are family, and I don't agree.

I believe that you always have to set limits and be able to say “Enough” without it implying that there is less family love or meaning that there is a break in the relationship.
And friends, we must always make ourselves a priority, it is basic self-love, and also, if we see it from the point of view of our feminine instinct, of being the protectors, we have to ask ourselves:

If we are not well, how can we help and/or take care of our family and others?

So we must choose ourselves first so we can continue to be beings of light, beings of goodwill, and make our families as happy as they possible can be.

This is my entry to the Ladies of Hive contest #178, and my official return to Hive. I can't tell you how often I'll write here, but, I'm back babies!

See you next time.

✨✨Blessings✨✨

Welcome back to Hive!

Singing (at the top of your lungs, or in your head), or music is such a good release from the tensions of everything we need to deal with.

Thank you! 🙏

I didn't remember how hard it is but I love it. ❤️

Hahaha yes, sometimes I laugh when I do it because I look crazy haha but it allows me to channel any bad feelings I have and transform them into something positive.

I’m sorry about your health and you’re absolutely welcome back to hive.

Singing is definitely something I’m sure most people do when they are just stressed from so much work.
I do too, for some reason you just get some much steam off in the end so I can totally relate

Thank you! 🙏

It's hard, being sick and all, but it has helped me put myself as a priority, establish limits and say enough is enough.

And singing uff, one of the best ways to heal and care for the soul.

Singing! how nice. It cheers up the soul. And as for setting family boundaries, that's the key. As women we don't set limits and say yes to everything, only to get caught up in a lot of exhaustion.

Thank you! 🙏🏻

Last week during one of the routine power outages in my town, I started singing songs from the 80s. It served to keep me sane during a few highly stressful hours, plus my mom was happy.

And as for the family, exactly, I love them and everything but respect and boundaries above all.
