Free Chaos Legion NFT Pack Inside (Not A Giveaway Post)
Today was a busy day for @rentmoney. Errands needed to be done, bills needed to be paid and numerous other activities took place as well. In other-words; I was forced to do responsible adult things today (Yuck!). Now its back to posting about Splinterlands and figuring out where to park/ trade or invest the next chunk of disposable funds that might be waiting to do such a thing. One of those places might be in Chaos Legion Packs but is it a good idea? As one of the Hiven's here on the Hive Blockchain pointed out to me; soon the CHAOS Legion cards will be removed from modern play. When that happens to a set it usually means that sets NFT's take a dip in USD worth. If the cards take a dip; its a reasonable assumption to assume so will the NFT Packs that the dipping cards are associated with. But at $0.40, its hard to believe they would dip much lower. Then of course we need to consider trade volume. As packs get older the less 24hr trade volume they seem to have and I already have a few thousand in my bag (With this consideration, Do I really need more?). NFT Set Trade volume shrinkage happens for a number of reasons. One of those reasons Chaos Legion doesn't have to worry about (Scarcity: There's plenty of CL Packs in circulation). I believe these packs are so affordable that even with the CL Cards being removed from modern play players will still opt to purchase the CL Packs just because of their affordability. At $0.40 a pop a person could purchase and open 10 Packs for just $4.00 USD compared to the one pack that is purchased directly from Splinterlands (when the new set becomes available). Opening 10 packs is much more fun compared to opening one. Its an interesting situation that I'll be keeping my eye on to see how it unfolds. Now lets move on to how a Chaos Legion Pack is roaming around this post and will likely find a new home.
Free Chaos Legion Pack
Since this post isn't a giveaway post I'm going to restrain myself from saying just that. I however will say that someone who comments below will be transferred a Chaos Legion NFT Pack directly after this post reaches post payout. I'm still hoarding around 400 packs which I bought during a group buy session around 2 years ago. Bad investment though as I don't see it rising up soon. Too late to open up packs as well. :P
Splinterlands was over enthusiastic and misjudged the NFT hype of 2021 that they created too much supply in this core edition. Hope they don't do the same for the new core this year.
That's a nice amount to be holding. 2021 was a crazy time, they overshot due to the crazy bull run we were in. Unfortunately that was followed by a giant downswing. The mechanics in place for recent core packs won't allow for an overshot. The daily burn they put on packs makes sure of that.

I use Chaos Legion to fill my gambling addiction every now and then. Since they are the cheapest packs, whenever I have some small amounts of HIVE leftover I open up Chaos Legion packs and I level up the cards I get.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the CL Packs. It was a good time in Splinterlands and quite a fall on the nose, but a good time.

Agreed, no-one could of predicted what came after the pump. On the positive side of things, players can get packs for $0.40 cents and that is one heck of a deal.

I didn't know that the prices of Chaos packs were such a bargain, after hearing this information I'm even thinking about buying some more, I have 14 packs so far, without having bought any, all of them coming from rewards when I was lucky enough to get one. I don't know off the top of my head how many Chaos packs I've opened so far, but I think it's quite a considerable amount for me to have a good amount of cards.

I do have to say that I bought some Chaos packs at 80 cents and thought "how could they go any lower?" 🙁
I had the same thought process. I know there is an a big supply on the secondary market but $0.40 is surprising. I'm tempting to buy up but I'll see what the removal of CL from modern does to the trade value before making any decisions.
