The Mask Killer
Chapter 6
In the previous chapter, Caxemina tied up all the loose ends and had a revelation about the killer of the mask. The end is near and this chapter will be decisive, we invite you to read the penultimate chapter...
Caxemina arrives at the warehouse and knocks hurriedly, apparently, there is no one there. She keeps knocking insistently for them to open the door but there is no answer. She thinks about going back to the headquarters, turns around, and goes in a hurry to set up the operation. She bumps into a man dressed in black and wearing a mask. The detective stares at him with shock.
"Calm down, it's me, Eduardo. I decided to go out for a while to enjoy the last night of carnival", says the man removing his mask.
"What a scare you gave me. I was looking for you, have you by any chance seen your employee?"
"No, but if you wish. I can take you home."
She hurriedly nods her head and they set off for the employee's house. As they arrive the darkness begins to fall, and the darkness mixed with the color of joy gives way to the last day of carnival.
As they cross the block they watch the clerk come out of the house, dressed in black and wearing a mask. The detective yells for him to stop, but the employee looks at her and starts to run. They go after him before he gets lost in the crowd. The minutes start ticking away to catch the employee.
They follow him without blinking. The slightest carelessness can make the employee disappear. Caxemina cannot risk letting him escape once again. They are after him like mice after cheese. The employee is about to reach the crowd, where he is sure to disappear. The detective keeps shouting for him to stop but to no avail.
The employee keeps running, but he can't lose them. He enters an abandoned factory and closes the door. Caxemina fires her gun to open it. They enter the place, and everything is dark. They can't see anything, and it will be difficult to find the suspect. Eduardo lights a match. The darkness dissipates a little. The field of vision is very small.
The detective speaks. "There is no escape, turn yourself in immediately."
After a moment, they start to hear noises. They only see fallen tanks and old tools. The noises become more continuous. In an instant, Eduardo is hit and passes out instantly. Caxemina is left alone and without help. The sounds become more and more booming and repetitive. The detective is attentive with her gun.
After a moment, the noises cease, and all is quiet. Caxemina is on high alert. She turns her body quickly to avoid being surprised, turns her head over her shoulder, and sees a shadow coming towards her. She turns quickly..., but it is too late. The detective falls victim to a blunt blow with a metal bar. She loses consciousness, and her reality disappears.
