BRIAR PATCH | BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!

Welcome to my post. This time the Battle Mage Secrets challenge has a theme about the BRIAR PATCH rule. You can take part in the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge every week which is organized by Splinterlands.

We have to know about the fighting rules in Splinterlands so we can take advantage of these rules and win card battles in Splinterlands.

BRIAR PATCH

If you find this logo in your fight then there are several things you should pay attention to:

• At the start of the battle, all units gain the Thorns ability.
• Enemy units that use melee attacks take damage back. Damage returned equals the attacker's damage divided by two, rounded up.
• Thorns do not damage melee attack units with the Reflection Shield ability.
• The Amplify ability increases damage.

And in combat, if there is more than one rule that applies, then pay attention so that the existing rules support each other and do not conflict.

RULES AND TACTICS

In this fight, there are three rules that apply, namely BRIAR PATCH, RISE OF THE COMMONS and ARMORED UP. With the mana stamp given is 60 points. The elements that can be used are all elements except the earth element.

In this battle, I chose not to risk sending melee monsters. I only field monsters with ranged and magical attacks. In the tank section, I sent WARRIOR OF PEACE, followed by the arrow monsters GARGOYA DEVIL, WAR PEGASUS, PELACOR ARBALEST, and AJAX LIGHTFOOT. The magical monster is CAPTAIN KATIE.

The enemy appeared to have read that I was going to use the arrow monster. Using a summoner reduces archer monsters' attack power. I suffered a loss as the archer's attack power was reduced. However, the enemy monsters use melee monsters, which is highly disadvantageous under BRIAR PATCH rules. Does the enemy have a special strategy?

During the first round, this rule applies the thorn effect to all enemy melee attacks. As a result, the shield that once protected him became a victim. while enemy attacks are increasingly putting my monster's health points at risk. Fortunately, CAPTAIN KATIE's attack defeated SCAVO HIERELING and activated the bloodlust skill.

Gradually, the situation improved, and I was able to reverse all of the opponent's attacks thanks to the thorn effect. All of the opponent's attacks will counterattack one another.

And, with CAPTAIN KATIE's bloodlust skill still active, the enemy's final attack comes from TENYU STRIKER. It also receives counterattack from the thorn effect because it is a melee monster. And I can achieve the final victory in this fight.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Although the battle rules provide a shield bonus in this battle, it does not prevent the thorn attack from being effective. The enemy did not seem to understand that there was a BRIAR PATCH rule in this fight. So you're still willing to install melee monsters.

Meanwhile, I took the safest route. I send arrow monsters and rely on one magic monster. Magic monsters are most effective when used in conjunction with the applicable combat rules. because magic attacks will penetrate the shield and directly attack the monster's health points.

My strategy was successful in this fight because it involved using magic to attack monsters. Also, half of my victories were thanks to the thorn effect, which hit the opponent's monster as a result of its own attack.
