Reviewing The New And Improved Quest For Stoken Game.

Welcome to my blog. This is a review of the Quest for Stoken game on Hive. A few months ago I did a review on the alpha. At that time the game wasn’t finished yet but the owner wanted reviews on the game to see how things have gone with it. He wanted honest reviews from people to be sure he’s doing what the people want. The first time I played it, it wasn’t bad. I think if you did play it the first time you’d immediately see what the developer wanted to achieve with the game.

Fast forward to now, the game is ready and has been released and here I am with honest opinions about the game.

If you did play the alpha you’d remember that you only needed to climb space bar which would take you to the game play immediately. Now you have the option of logging in with hive keychain extension on your laptop.

Even after logging in, you’ll still need to press the space bar to continue with the actual gameplay.

Yes, some might not like this but then it’s done for a reason. Below that page, you have a place for pursuing in your honest opinions down there. So in my honest opinion, I don’t think pressing the space bar to take you to the game is a problem.

Now to the game.

Immediately you press the space bar this is what you see.

You see the first page of the game. When I played the alpha this wasn’t the first page. But anyway, there’s no problem with that.

I think this first page is there as a way to show you how the game is played. I say this because you only see instructions all over and there is no one monster to even fight there.

As you can see in the subsequent screenshots it’s just instructions on how to play until the fourth screenshot at the top. This is where you go into the next world for the actual gameplay.

In this next world, you begin to face evil birds and evil monkeys. In my experience, the monkeys are much stronger than the evil birds. You’ll need to take a lot of hits from the bird to lose life or even die. But with the monkey a few hits and you’re dead.

In this image, you’ll see that I attacked and killed the monster. Sometimes when you kill the monkey you get an additional life which you can use to restore part of your health if you’ve suffered some hits.

After defeating the evil monster and the evil birds then you can progress. You’ll face a few birds on the way; with a few hits, you can kill them. When you move forward you’ll be able to see a gun. The gun is very helpful for a few reasons.

With this gun, you wouldn’t need to get close to the monster before you even kill it. With the birds just 2 or 3 shots and they’re dead. But there are other monsters which do take a lot of shots before they die.

After picking up the gun you need to take note that when you go into the next world you lose the gun as well.

Moving forward from this next stage was literally the hardest for me.

I had to figure it out the hard way. This is because I thought it was the end of the world and I had to jump into another world.

I had no idea I needed to go upwards like you need to climb the train rails to get to the top of the building to get to a different world.

After figuring it out I managed to climb my way to the top. This was simple as there were arrows which showed me where I had to go. It would have been great if I had those arrows at the place I had a difficult time trying to figure out.

Now let me say this so I don’t forget. In the first few worlds, the game was very slow. At first, I thought it was a situation with my laptop because it happened the same way with the alpha but then when I moved into the new world it was really fast. I enjoyed playing in the new world more than the older world.

When I got to this new world I lost the gun as well. The gun you see me holding there was down there so I went to hustle for it and I ended up losing a life.

I was fortunate as I still had one more life remaining.

I managed to find my way out of there and moved to a much deeper place. Only to meet a green monster which was big. With just a few hits I was dead.

That was how I lost all my life.

I do like this new and improved skate hive. I don’t know why it was slow in the beginning but then I did love playing in fast mode.
