LOH #220 - Habits Of A Foodie
I eat a lot. I always have, right from when I was younger till now. Food always brings me comfort and makes me happy especially when I am having a bad or stressful day. Infact anytime I have low appetite,my loved ones are always worried that I might be falling ill.
My Eating Habits?
I do have both good and bad eating habits. I can eat anytime, be it morning or night. I once ate around 3am because I couldn't sleep(well I couldn't just lay there staring at the ceiling). Though we were told it's not healthy to do so, well I can't say No to food sometimes.
Another bad eating habit I have is that I don't eat in small portions as advised by health experts. I eat in large quantities though one thing I can take pride in is that I never rush my food. In fact, I can't be chosen for any eating competition because I would definitely fail.
I love preparing my own food. I am not a chef but I can say that my taste buds do agree with what I prepare. I don't really have a favorite recipe for cooking but I sometimes add ginger and garlic to my meals for additional flavour. Due to their medicinal properties, I'd say it also helps me have healthy meals.
It's kind of ironic seeing as I try to ensure I sometimes eat healthy meals only to have myself sometimes indulge in unhealthy eating habits.
I don't always eat out as it's not always cost friendly plus the quantity isn't always the same as when I want to eat food I prepared myself. Imagine being served two medium-sized spoons of food for ridiculous amount of money when that same money will get me more food when I prepared them myself.
Satisfying My Cravings?
I don't always eat what I crave because of the high cost of foodstuffs. Particularly in the state where I reside. I think many people who live there can attest to the fact that food takes a higher percentage of our income. But I do ensure that I satisfy my cravings once in a while at least few times in a year.
Presently, there are foods I have been craving for since the beginning of this year but haven't been able to satisfy them. I can't even do that now because as a salary earner, I am in the reserve phase of my income (“January is a long month*). This is after I have “Dettied my December “ 😁, so cravings will have to wait for now.
Overall, I try my best to ensure I eat healthy and balanced meals and I am now trying to reduce some of my bad eating habits like eating bulky foods and eating late at night.
I also drink loads of water and take walks to help my body stay fit. In all, I still love food all the way 😛.

I can relate to loving food, and if it's healthy all the better, when I don't eat I get cranky with you, of course in small portions, and yes, drinking lots of water and walking helps a lot, thanks for sharing,
