One Of My Embarrassing Moments ~` LOH#149

When I saw the questions for this week I couldn't help but laugh as it brought back memories that I wished not to relive again.

We all indeed have some moments in life which if granted the power we would go back in time to undo it. I too like others have such moments.

It happened when I was in a higher institution. Before that day, I had been doing a lot of work at home and I was supposed to rest but I remembered that one of our seniors then hinted to us that one of our lecturers (I would call him Mr. O for this post) may or may not give us a test the following day, I knew I had to go so that I don't miss it even though my body begged to just stay at home. Mr O. is one of those lecturers who won't allow you to retake a test you missed even if you gave the excuse that you were transported to another planet.

Though I was so tired, I couldn't afford to miss it. So I got prepared the next day and off I went. When I got to school, I attended other classes I was supposed to have before this lecturer's class which made me more tired walking from one auditorium to another. I felt since I was already in school there was no use missing any of the lectures.

When it was time for Mr. O's class, I went straight to the auditorium and sat close to the backseat. It's a departmental course so the class was not crowded like the population you would see during general classes. It was supposed to be a two-hour class so we waited for him. About thirty minutes passed and there was no sign of him, but I was still waiting along with my other classmates. It didn't take long before I fell asleep.

After a long time, I felt someone tapping my hand and calling my name. I woke up a bit drenched in sweat to see all eyes looking at me with some of them giggling or probably laughing at me. It didn't take long before I saw the cause of their laughter. It turns out I was drooling while sleeping and I awoke with the saliva still dripping down my face. I also saw that Mr. O. was in class and he said something about me not sleeping well at night probably due to "vigil"( which according to them means I had sex all through the night) and that made the whole class erupted in laughter again.

I felt so embarrassed that I wished I could be transported to another planet at that moment. The worst part of it was that he didn't give us the test because according to him the class is "too full". Some of these lecturers prefer it when the population in the class is not much so they could give tests as a way of "correcting" those who love to miss classes.

At the end of the class, I had to pick up the little dignity I had left and go to my house, I was glad it was the last class of the day. I somehow blamed myself for not listening to my intuition and just stayed at home.

That day's event is one I never want to have a repeat of.

Why I wonder, do teachers feel the need to make examples of students? I'm sorry you had this happen, but glad that you can laugh about it now. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!

Personally, I would have taken the offensive and become deeply offended by his sexist innuendo and reported him to his Board of Peers.

If only I had known better. We always feared them back then as they make us feel they are demi-gods.

Thank you for visiting.

Girl, I felt your embarrassment! That must have been quite the experience. I have had the same unfortunate experience too. I drooled on a guy I had a crush on while we were in the bus for a field trip. I really hope he never got to see the mark I left there.

Waltzed in from Dreemport.

That's an obnoxious, narcissistic and sexist man. What a low down thing to say to anybody! It's good that it's something you can laugh about now but I know it mustn't have been easy for you dealing with that terrible innuendo. Cheers and hugs to you dear Rukkie🌺

If you knew, you would have just stayed at home and grant your tired body some rest.
The test which was the reason you went was not held but instead you got embarrassed 😞.
I know how it can be with lecturers and their test, which is why no one wants to miss tests. It's good you can laugh 😂 over it now.

Abi o, if I had known I would have just stayed at home.

Thanks for stopping by sis.

Jokes on Mr.O. Making jest of you in front of the whole class wasn't right. Coupled with the fact that you were at the corner trying to mind your business. Good thing you were able to still carry your shoulders high as you left the class.

Damn, I can't imagine what you must have experienced at that moment, all eyes on you😅. It seems this attitude of lecturers is the same all across universities, especially Nigeria. It is as if they hate it when class is populated and derive pleasure by tormenting students with impromptu test

Hahaha 😆 this is why I am always too careful to sleep in public like that because one wouldn't know when he or she starts to droll and having saliva run through their mouth to their hands, clothes and even the desk they are resting on. Such an embarrassing moment it would be. I guess it happens that way when one is so tired and stressed.
