The ghost of Christmas past haunts me, but I have had to learn to make a new Christmas, that despite not having the presence of all the loved ones, we adapt to the new technology and bring them to our table through the mobile screen.

In my childhood, Christmas is full of smells like fresh paint, the smell of wax and the baking of pork. But most of all from that battalion of cousins ​​gathered in a single house, with our best clothes.

Those cousins ​​who shared with us little Christmas stars known as sparklers and everything was filled with the smell of gunpowder, with the treehoppers, triki trakis. Thank goodness we never had any serious accidents, just the tips of a few fingers burned a little.

Life gives us changes over the years, but always the desire to get together at Christmas and share this present. As we grew up and had our children, we followed the example that our elders taught us, we sought to gather together in one house. But the cousins ​​grew up and also had their own families and other places to meet.

Maintaining the tradition of getting together to prepare our traditional hallacas has never been lost. It's time to chat and dust off the recipes for preparing our main Christmas dish companion. Getting together to make it requires a lot of organization and preliminary purchases to have the ingredients.

My custom of preparing a table for Christmas with the tablecloth that my mother-in-law wove became a tradition, filled with many foods to welcome the children to the table.

My best recipe that I always share with my family on these dates is the traditional quesillo. I always prepared several as gifts for my brothers.

I love putting up the traditional nativity scene at home, sometimes very simple but full of beautiful details and lots of lights.

I will continue to enjoy the Christmas gathering even though there are now fewer of us present at the table. The Christmas spirit always makes my heart happy these days, it is the festivities that I always like the most.

Mi adorada navidad

El fantasma de las navidades pasadas me persigue, pero he tenido que aprender a fabricar una nuevas navidades, que a pesar de no contar con la presencia de todos los seres queridos, nos adaptamos a la nueva tecnología y los traemos a nuestra mesa a través de la pantalla del móvil.

Nuestras primeras fotos a color en esas navidades pasadas.

En mi infancia la navidad esta llena de olores como la pintura fresca, el olor a cera y el horneado del pernil. Pero más que todo de ese batallón de primos reunidos en una sola casa, con nuestras mejores ropas.

Esos primos que nos compartían estrellitas de Navidad conocidas como luces de Bengala y todo se llenaba al olor de la pólvora, con los saltapericos, triki trakis. menos mal nunca tuvimos ningún grave accidente, solo la punta de unos dedos un poco quemados.

La vida nos da cambios a través de los años, pero siempre el deseo de reunirnos en navidad y compartir esta presente. Al crecer y tener nuestros hijos seguimos el ejemplo que nuestros mayores nos enseñaron, buscamos reunirnos todos en una sola casa. Pero los primos crecieron y tuvieron también sus propias familias y otros lugares a donde reunirse.

Mantener la tradición de reunirnos para preparar nuestra tradicionales hallacas nunca se ha perdido. Es momento de tertulia y desempolvar las recetas de preparación de nuestro principal acompañante plato navideño. Reunirnos para su elaboración requiere de mucha organización y compras preliminares para tener los ingredientes.

Mi costumbre de preparar una mesa para navidad con el mantel que tejió mi suegra se volvió una tradición, llena de muchos alimentos para recibir a los hijos a la mesa.

Mi mejor receta y que siempre comparto con mi familia en estas fechas es el tradicional quesillo. Siempre preparaba varios como obsequios para mis hermanos.

Me encanta poner el tradicional nacimiento en casa, a veces muy sencillo pero lleno de lindos detalles y muchas luces.

Seguiré disfrutando del encuentro navideño a pesar del que ahora somos menos los presentes en la mesa. El espíritu navideño siempre me alegra el corazón en estos días, es las festividades que más me agradan siempre.
