Hail to the Hive!

ひさしぶり long time since my last post. Apologies. I had promised I wouldn’t allow that to happen again but working nights has sucked me into a void of creativity, which has been disappointing to say the least. However on Sundays I have a beacon of hope in this void when I visit my local pub ‘ The Maltings Tap House’. On a recent visit the Manager invited me to look at some of the old buildings unused space that they are going to try and develop and I was inspired by the vibe, potential and all around awesomeness of the unused space in the building.

The place already has a rustic vibe that would be hard to replicate artistically and I was also surprised to see outdoor space round the back they’re developing into outdoor seating and smoking areas.

There are plans also to develop this big space into an area for live bands and also cinema nights. This thought had my imagination running wild as I imagined rustic sofas and big screen with brick wall backdrop doing cinema nights. Hmmm beers, cinema, sofa and Anime….awesomeness in an old rustic building.

They also found this quirky chap in there left behind from who knows what. As we chatted we agreed he should be made part of the area where perhaps a dj would be on nights when they have DJ’s in to do theme nights.

I was amazed this space was literally next door but in the same building to the pub I spend my Sundays in.

So many possibilities limited only by the imagination of the management here and after speacking at length with Chris the manager, I felt they were going to do it proud.

We both agreed they should retain as much of the natural character of the building as possible as it lends so much personality to anything they decide to do and from our conversation they are llanning some very cool stuff.

I’m particularly looking forward to cinema night as I think it would be a very cool vibe.
