Process/Proceso

We start the sketch with the basic shape, and then we give more details about a different layer, for this I used a blue color and a brush of 60% hardness as usual, this and thinking about making some changes in this part of the process, but so far it is working well for me like this.

Iniciamos el boceto con la forma básica, y luego damos más detalles sobre una capa diferente, para esto use un color azul y un pincel de dureza 60% como es costumbre, esto y pensando en hacer algunos cambios en esta parte del proceso, pero hasta el momento me está funcionando bien así.

Once the sketch is ready, we make the lineart, for this we use a new layer, a brush with 50% hardness and black color. Also a much smaller line thickness.

Una vez listo el boceto hacemos el lineart, para esto usamos una nueva capa, un pincel con dureza al 50% y color negro. También un grosor de linea mucho mas reducido.

We add the base color, starting from the bottom where we will put two colors as a base for the water.

Agregamos el color base, iniciando desde el fondo donde pondremos dos colores como base para el agua.

We keep adding the base colors, for each part of the drawing I'll use a different layer.

Seguimos agregando los colores base, para cada parte del dibujo usaré una capa diferente.

Once all the base color is ready it is time to give them lights and shadows, a curious fact in the skin part, I used a slightly red tone to delimit the border between light and shadow, it is very subtle, but I feel that it adds a lot of visual value to the drawing.

Una vez listo todo el color base es momento de darles luces y sombras, un dato curioso en la parte de la piel, utilice un tono ligeramente rojo para delimitar la frontera entre la luz y la sombra, es muy sutil, pero siento que le suma mucho valor visual al dibujo.

In the same way we apply lights and shadows in the rest of the drawing, a good contrast between light and shadow gives a lot of depth to the illustration.

De igual forma aplicamos luces y sombras en el resto del dibujo, un buen contraste entre la luz y la sombra le da muchísima profundidad a la ilustración.

Once the character is ready, it's time to make the water background, this step requires your special attention, but I don't want to take away from it either.

Una vez listo el personaje, es momento de hacer el fondo de agua, este paso requiere su atención especial.

Finally, after proofreading and adding details, our Christmas illustration is finished!
