LOH # 166 Valuable time for myself

What would you do differently or start doing for yourself next year?

With yet another challenging question put forward by @merit.ahama, we get another opportunity to thing how unique we are. Wishing all Hiveans in this community a wonderful year ahead. "Happy New Year" my dear friends.

The question put forward reminds me of too many things to do, not knowing where to start. First and foremost, When I look back I always feel bad about one thing - the habit of pleasing friends and relatives. What for??? Even today I haven't got an answer. Because the result is not always satisfactory. But then from my personal side, I should proudly say I succeeded.

For instance, when I went to the hostel for the first time to admit my daughter, I happened to see too many children with a broken face. Though I was dumb stuck she came in with a smiling face saying "will meet once in two weeks". That was surprising, which meant somewhere in me gave her the courage to say so. This was years before.

By pleasing others, I forget my stand. I wish to be myself. I understand one thing by making others happy I gain nothing, instead lose my self respect. At this point, I remember my Principal, who is very friendly towards staff, but, when it comes to work there is no room for friendship. An iron lady with principles in life.

Secondly, though life has so much in store for us, in the name of obligation we forget our likes and dislikes. A sad truth. Atleast once in lifetime, I wish to do things of my choice, to visit peoples and places of my choice, to cook and eat as per my desire and above all, to go a solo trip ------ when you read the above mentioned , everything looks so simple but putting them in practice is the real challenge.

My solution to all this is to keep a time for yourself - no matter who or what you are? Time is an important factor. If we organize our time most of our dreams can be fulfilled as per our desire and we can expect a potential year ahead.

I wish 2024 will, hopefully, reach to my expectations to do something, that I kept in store, for myself.
