Splinterlands Art Contest Week 268: Elven Mystic

A sect of Elves from Anumün were discovered by tribal leaders studying the ways of dark magic and banished from the Eastern Wood. They found their way to Khymeria where they could use their powers to assist the Khymians in bringing Dark Eternals back to the living. These Elven Mystics are respected as Khymian mages, but are trusted by almost no one in the Earth or Life Splinters.

One: Rough Draft

Two: Ink. I decided later to zoom in and get rid of some of the extra space on the canvas.

Three: use an India Ink brush to slather on a rough color layer.

Four: Use the Clip Studio "Colorize" feature to auto-color the rough layer into a pretty good water colored image using the ink layer as a reference.

Five: Shading. This usually takes the most time. Also, reduced the ink layer down to 50% opacity so the thick lines are not as blatant.

Six: More shading. I also usually duplicate the color layer to make it look less like water color and more like oil paints.

Seven: Glow layer. Add some glowing light and sign the bottom right corner so that it is worth big bucks for the collectors.
