Splinterlands Art Contest Week 300: Bera Dallin

This is my entry for the weekly Splinterlands Art Contest found HERE

For my version I switched her to a suit of "why bother?" armor... such as the chainmail bikini made famous by Red Sonja.

Created in Clip Studio Paint Pro on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Here is the timelapse video:

And here is the step-by-step drawing process:

Step One: Rough draft. I use a 40 px pastel pencil to block out the rough shape

Step Two: Line Art. I went with thick line art. Used the "for effect" pen in Clip Studio for most of the curved lines. Switched to the G-Pen tool for the face for more precision. Turnip pen for the straight lines for the sword blade

Step Three: Hide the rough draft layer and create first color layer. I splashed down some India ink and then used the Colorize feature

Step Four: Duplicate the original color layer to darken it and clean up some details

Step Five: Made a separate shading layer, add some shading with black smooth watercolor brush

Step Six: Create an Overlay layer to add some reflected light

Step Seven: Sign my work so that everyone knows it is a Matt S. Law original

Step Eight: Become famous and wealthy
