¡Hola Comunidad Splinterlands! 💖
Esta es mi primera vez participando en este concurso y espero poder subir más en el futuro. Para mi entrada decidí realizar una ilustración de la carta "Queen of Crows" ya que me gusto mucho su diseño.

I recently joined Hive so I discovered the lore tab too late, I picked reference only from what was visible on the market card, I chose the rest of her outfit and took the creative decision of making her eyes green.

Recientemente me uní a Hive, así que descubrí la pestaña de historia demasiado tarde, tome referencia solo de lo que era visible en la carta del mercado, elegí el resto de su atuendo y tomé la decisión creativa de hacer que sus ojos fueran verdes.

From the moment that I choose this card I knew I wanted to draw her floating with some crows surrounding her so I started sketching.

Desde el momento en que elegí esta carta supe que quería dibujarla flotando con algunos cuervos rodeándola, así que comencé a bocetear.

SKETCH AND LINEART

With this drawing I was stepping out of my comfort zone over and over. And it was my first time drawing crows and on top of that they had to be showing some movement. Sketching took a while but I had so much fun with it!

Con este dibujo salía una y otra vez de mi zona de confort. Y era la primera vez que dibujaba cuervos que además tenían que mostrar algo de movimiento. ¡Bocetear me tomó un tiempo pero me divertí mucho!

When I finished that it was lineart time! I realized half wat through that I hadn't add the boots and the crow skull piece on her chest to my sketch at all. And even in this screenshot there's no crow skull on her chest at all! But don't worry we will finally see it when I move on to the flat colours.

¡Cuando terminé eso llegó el momento del lineart! A mitad de camino me di cuenta de que no había agregado las botas y la pieza del cráneo de cuervo en su pecho a mi boceto en absoluto. ¡E incluso en esta captura de pantalla no hay ninguna calavera de cuervo en su pecho! Pero no se preocupen, finalmente lo veremos cuando pase a los colores planos.

ALL THE COLOURING STEPS

Here we move on to the next topic, colours! I always love colouring but I have to admit this one was quite the challenge, I chose to add a fire flame to her hand to make it look as if she was casting some kind of spell. That changed my whole shadow and lighting progress in a second, I had so many things to fix because of this detail. I don't regret adding it at all since I find it to be a great interest point!

Aquí pasamos al siguiente tema, ¡los colores! Siempre me ha gustado colorear, pero tengo que admitir que este fue todo un desafío; elegí agregar una llama de fuego a su mano para que pareciera como si estuviera lanzando algún tipo de hechizo. Eso cambió todo mi progreso de sombras e iluminación en un segundo, tenía tantas cosas que arreglar debido a este detalle. ¡No me arrepiento en absoluto de haberlo agregado ya que lo encuentro un gran punto de interés!

Once I had all my flat colours down I started building lights and shadows on different sections (ex: Hair, clothes, gold, etc.) For the skin I focused on the blush and some lipstick as well.

Una vez que tuve todos mis colores planos comencé a crear luces y sombras en diferentes secciones (por ejemplo: cabello, ropa, oro, etc.). Para la piel me concentré en el rubor y también en un poco de lápiz labial.

I added the flame and the crow pattern on her clothes at this point, some parts of the lineart were coloured to enhance different parts of the drawing such as her elbow feathers.

Agregué la llama y el patrón de cuervo en su ropa en este punto, algunas partes del lineart fueron coloreadas para realzar diferentes partes del dibujo, como las plumas de su codo.

As you can see I didn't make any progress on the crows up until I had finished colouring their queen. I didn't take many screenshots of thieir process because the consist on basic light and shadow plus coloured lineart to help them blend in the background.

Como pueden ver, no hice ningún progreso con los cuervos hasta que terminé de colorear a su reina. No tomé muchas capturas de pantalla de su proceso porque consiste en luces y sombras básicas más cambiar el color del lineart para ayudar a que se mezclen con el fondo.

After that I added some lights to their eyes, duplicated their layer twice, added a movement blur on one and Gaussian blur to the other.

BACKGROUND

I don't usually do backgrounds due to the fact that I need most of my drawings to be transparent background PNGs. This is the reason why when I finished colouring everything I didn't know how to keep going.

Normalmente no hago fondos porque necesito que la mayoría de mis dibujos sean PNG con fondo transparente. Esta es la razón por la que cuando terminé de colorear todo no sabía cómo seguir.

In the end I decided to play with the gradient tool and sunset tones. I found that I could make good use of the diamond shaped gradient.

Al final decidí jugar con la herramienta de degradado y los tonos del atardecer. Descubrí que podía hacer buen uso del degradado en forma de diamante.

After tweaking the gradient colours many times I landed on a great combination so I drew some clouds there, decided I liked the result and added my signature!

Después de modificar los colores del degradado muchas veces, encontré una gran combinación, así que dibujé algunas nubes allí, decidí que me gustaba el resultado y agregué mi firma.

To finish, I would like to say I really enjoyed the whole process of making this drawing, I hadn't done anything like this in digital art before and it was a great experience. That being said, I look forward to participating again soon!

Para finalizar me gustaría decir que disfruté mucho todo el proceso de realizar este dibujo, nunca antes había hecho algo así en arte digital y fue una gran experiencia. Dicho esto, ¡espero volver a participar pronto!
