Zebra Stripe Cannabis - Guess the weight contest

The buds have been drying for around 5 days and feeling nice and light now. The strong smell of wet buds has mostly faded now, and with the humidity levels stable in the room I am drying them its time to cure them. I placed them in jars and only filled them to half, this way they can cure very well and I can easily move them around to make sure the bottom buds gets as much air as the top buds.

It is time for another guess the weight contest, the winner gets 10 Hive. See details at the bottom of the post.

The buds are smaller than what I am used to, and they are quite airy. The smell is fruity, I wonder how much of that will come through in the vape and smoke flavor.

Still I see many crystals on the buds so they are quite resinous. I think they will be strong, no idea the THC percentage, but with the powerful lights I use along with good nutrients I am hoping on the upper end above 20%

I will be curing them for the next few months, hopefully by 4/20 I can taste it. Only a month away, so hopefully that is enough time, otherwise waiting around 3 months to fully cure is the plan.

A process called "burping" I release the gases from the curing buds. At first opening the jars a few times a day, then eventually twice a day and then finally once a day.

Only one of the seven jars is a quarter full, the others are all half full to by best abilities.

I wonder how much of the green color will fade, my sour diesel has lost much of its brightness over time. A few of the buds were turning purple so there are touches of lilac coloring throughout.

They look real tasty, I need to be patient though. If I tried them now they would taste like grass mostly...lol

Another crate mostly filled up, it is less than my last harvest. But with the unexpected changes in my plants being autos I think I did well enough.

Leave a comment on this post with your guess of the total harvest weight of the Zebra Stripe in grams, jar weight not included.

After seven days I will announce the winner and send the 10 Hive to the person that got the closest.

It is incredible how time has passed and how good it is to see the buds dry, I only regret that they are a little smaller than the previous time, I hope that the quality is very good and the THC percentage is higher than the 20% that you estimate
Great that it only covers half the jars to allow more air flow
My estimate in grams of this harvest may be around 120 grams.

Excellent work this season dear friend @solominer

It sure is amazing to watch them from seed to harvest.

Yeah it may be less but hopefully no less potent..

Ok cool

I laughed first 😅.
Well, it's just a guess and guessing wrongly answers are all part of the guess. lol😅

5 days is really fast to dry them, normally 7 min but even 10 is better.

I will guess 105

Yeah I feel ya, I was going to dry them for a full 7 to 10 days but they are already feeling really dry so I think they should be fine to cure.

Okay cool

Well if those are quart jars they'll hold about 2 oz each. But these are half full.. so that's roughly 6 ounces.. minus the ¼ full jar completely. 6 ounces aka 168 grams. Lock it in.

Good way to figuring it out. But all depends on the density of the buds.

True. Indica is more dense. Sativa is light and fluffy.. this is a Hybrid no?

It's indica dominant but the buds are quite airy for some reason.

Great minds think alike! I used the same math haha, but gave an extra half ounce for the 1/4 full jar. So, 6 oz plus the 14g lol

After rehashing the drying and curing process I probably would have adjusted my guess to 140grams. 5 ounces. But... I did say lock it in

hey! looks like there is a lot of good guesses already. I'll go with 115g

It's great to hear that the buds are feeling light and the strong smell is fading. Half-filling the jars for better air circulation is a smart move for optimal curing.

My guess is around d 150 grams

They look pretty good. I didn't know about the burping process.

My guess is 500g per jar.

A friend told me he left his hanging indoors for 6 months drying when he went away and wonders if he should still cure them in jars. i told him i think it's too late. What do you think?

My guess is 177.7 grams :-)

Ah.. well if you cannot check on the jars every day its best to hang them up.

So all depends on how often you can check on them.

Okay great.. thanks for the guess

Not sure if it's the correct or not but I guess it should be around 80 gm .

Greetings @solominer leaving that space like that is very good because the buds are better aerated, and that some are taking a purple hue is a good sign, that says that they are good for anxiety and are more relaxing.

With respect to airing them several times a day, there if I am failing because I am curing several genetics and I try to open the glass jars every day, but sometimes I have a lot of work and I forget, I do it every time I remember. Why do you have to open them several times a day? once a day that you open the jars is not enough? is it a doubt?

I think that the weight of all these buds in general oscillates in 94 to 100 grams but I would say that if 94 grams.

Airing them out more than once a day depends on how dense the buds are I would think. Maybe some really light buds can be aired out once a day.

Ok great.. thanks for the guess.
