Kappa's Reflections ~ Entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest

Hola amigos, espero que tengan un día maravilloso lleno de alegrías. Si no es así, espero que al menos sea un día productivo; los días productivos también son buenos días. Esta es mi primera vez participando aquí, y estaba muy emocionado y un poco ansioso por compartir estas fotos.

Hello friends, I hope you're having a wonderful day full of joy. If not, I hope it's at least a productive day; productive days are good days too. This is my first time participating here, and I was very excited and a little anxious to share these photos.

Si me conocen o han leído algunos de mis publicaciones, saben que tengo tres gatitos: Salem, Luna y Kappa (también llamado Blanco). Cada uno de mis gatitos tiene una personalidad distinta, y hoy le tocó el turno a Kappa de ser el protagonista. Kappa es quizás el más fotogénico de los tres, o al menos es el que más disfruta posar ante las cámaras, todo un influencer gatuno.

If you know me or have read any of my posts, you know that I have three cats: Salem, Luna, and Kappa (also known as Blanco). Each of my cats has a unique personality, and today it's Kappa's turn to be the star. Kappa is perhaps the most photogenic of the three, or at least the one who enjoys posing in front of the camera the most—a true feline influencer.

Kappa fue el último en llegar, pero es el de mayor edad. Llegó a mi casa después de que su antigua dueña falleció. Al principio llegó tranquilo y solo se dejaba ver a la hora de comer. Poco a poco se fue adueñando de la casa, bajo la mirada de Salem, quien es muy territorial. Por eso, al principio hubo varias peleas entre ellos. Hoy, en cambio, se llevan mejor o al menos se toleran; ambos aprendieron a respetar su espacio.

Kappa was the last one to arrive, but he is the oldest. He came to my home after his previous owner passed away. At first, he was calm and would only appear at mealtimes. Gradually, he took over the house under the watchful eyes of Salem, who is very territorial. Because of this, there were several fights between them at first. Nowadays, however, they get along better—or at least tolerate each other—as both have learned to respect each other's space.


Kappa descansa en el patio trasero; entre las rocas crecen los tréboles verdes. Él se observa, tranquilo y sereno, en un viejo fragmento de espejo. ¿Un gato blanco mirándose en un espejo roto rodeado de tréboles traerá buena suerte o mala suerte? Quién sabe. Kappa rests in the backyard; green clovers grow between the rocks. He looks at himself, calm and serene, in an old shard of mirror. Will a white cat gazing into a broken mirror surrounded by clovers bring good luck or bad luck? Who knows. Meanwhile, he purrs peacefully, carefree, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

A Kappa, a pesar de su edad, le gusta disfrutar de la compañía y es muy juguetón. Todavía persigue sombras e insectos y es, quizás, uno de los gatos menos dormilones que he conocido. Es un alma llena de energía que busca ser notado en todo momento.

Despite his age, Kappa loves company and is very playful. He still chases shadows and insects and is perhaps one of the least sleepy cats I've ever met. He is a soul full of energy that constantly seeks attention.
