Dear chessfans!
last Thu our Blockchain chess team fought its 10th battle of the "Lichess Team Liga" (more about this event here) and it was a complete disaster.
We finished at the last place!

Nevertheless, thanks a lot to ALL participants, first and foremost topscorer @jaki01, and the few others who had joined.
The next round is tomorrow Sun., 18th June, 18h GMT.
We will be in the liga 7B. As always, the more from our team join, the higher our chances will be to finish among the top 3 and improve in the rankings!
Mode: 3+2 (3 minutes per game, 2 sec. increment per move), 100 min. rated arena, win streaks & berserk allowed

The rules:
- Everybody in our Lichess team can join using the link to the tournament (pick our team if asked 😃, in case you are member in multiple teams)
- Only the results of the 7 best contributors of each team are counted in this liga (but all skill levels are important, because each win means potentially less points for the other teams!)
- Every Thursday and Sunday are tournaments

I am in full and vocal support of this. When there's an inner tourney all the strong players come and destroy but when we play against outside people with Blockchain in our name and Hive all over, they are nowhere to be found? Not cool.
I didn't play because I am swarmed with work and I'm a low ELO player but once I get back on track I'll help the team.
That being said, if anyone complains about this decision, all we need to do is tell them it's a meritocracy tournament: Only those who help the team with outside battles are eligible to compete for the inner tourney rewards, simple.

My idea would be to still let everybody take part in the season but only pay out rewards to players which have participated for "The Blockchain Chess Team" in at least half of the League encounters (where "participation" could mean to have played at least 8 games - which should be always doable).
To give everybody a fair chance you might start to count the number of participations from now on, so that nobody could say they hadn't known about the new 'rule'.
But this suggestion is only kind of "thinking loudly", and as you are offering the tournaments you should make the final decision and do things as you feel most comfortable with.
Hm, this is an interesting approach.
I am against any kind of ‘forcing’ people to participate or punishing them if they don’t. If someone does not want to be a part of a team, or does not consider it fun – he, or she, has a right to do as they wish. Forcing will only create resistance and throw people off the game.
Nobody is forced. Did I mention anything in this regard?
I support this comment from @jaki01 , there are many strong players who are in the Friday tournament league, if nothing else with the players who are playing these tournaments we are in decent positions, I think that with the support of those colossal players who are In Friday's tournaments, I'm almost sure it's easy for us to get into the top 3 places. And finally, if it's not too much for me to ask if you can remember the tournaments by private message at lichess @stayoutoftherz I would really appreciate it.

I haven't had the time to play for most of this competition and my ranking is very low anyhow. I hope to join in again soon though. :)
I wanted to participate last time but I did not have ten ranked games. So I need to grind that and I will be on for the next.

After that great start and plenty promotions, it's still nice to be around this level. I missed it, again. How I see not only me. Just 7 players? I try to keep in mind.
I am practiced in the last few days, playing only chess with more/full focus, not like a side event just for fun next to something else. Surprisingly, the points are going up faster than I thought, maybe I am not that bad, how I thought, and can add some points in this team competition, too.
