AFRI-INLEO INITIATIVE 30: 🎄Your Favorite Christmas Song🎄
As we start approaching the period of Christmas with the feeling of joy and celebration flying everywhere. I can only imagine the number of Christmas songs I will be listening to. Of course some comes with the individual memories of listening to it. I can still remember growing up many years ago, we use to sing a lot of Christmas song.
Now back to the title for this post, what is my favourite Christmas song. Honestly speaking, if you should ask me, it will be a very difficult one to go for because I grew up listening to a whole lot of Christmas song that I enjoyed so much. But I will say among all, one that I can continue to listen to over and over again every single time is "O Holy Night '. I remember listening to this particular song 10 years ago when I went to a Christmas carol in a particular church. As they were singing it, it was looking like Jesus was coming down from heaven that faithful day.
First of all, let me talk about the beauty of the song that. According to my research, the song was written in the year 1847 by Placide Cappeau and since then it has really be remodified by a whole lot of people. One of the major reasons why that song always stood out for me even till today always gives me this sense of feelings of the magical night that Christ was born.
The fact that every single time I listen to this song always brings within me powerful and strong emotions that made me to always meditate on the day of Christmas. The song always opens my eyes to see that the day of Christmas is beyond a celebration or a day but for us to reference this particular day that Christ came to earth. It was a holy and special night for everyone of us and every verse in that song always makes me reference that special day that welcomes Christ to the world.
Not only that, I see the song as a means of passing strong message of hope and Unity. In as much as we are waiting for the second coming of Christ, we should embrace today and celebrate the day of Christmas in love all shared around the world irrespective of your tribe of where you come From. Trust me today, there is so much division and strife that exist among us the humans and so the song always pass a strong message that we should dwelling unity and hope that the future is bright.
I will also like to talk about the strong personal connection that this song have for me. I must confess that there are seasons in my life that I was down and depressed and listening to this song alone, it breathe this sense of hope and positivity that no matter what is happening, the future is bright. No matter what is happening to me, someone over 2,000 years ago have come and paid the price on a holy night which He which is Jesus was born.
Right now, whenever I listen to several Christmas songs especially this one, it also always brings back to me memories of the lot of carols I have attended and people I have celebrated Christmas with which they are no longer alive again. It also open my eyes to see the need why every memories should be valued as they come because we might not have the opportunity to see the moment again.
