ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello all street art lovers! In my last expeditions through the city (Caracas-Venezuela), I was able to venture to photograph a few murals that I found on my way. To participate this week in the community's contest #183, I chose to show a mural that I quite liked it because of the style used by the artist Felipe García.

I really like drawings where you can see small details and color, like in this one. The artist uses curved lines to provide an interesting visual effect, which makes me think of illustrations from adventure stories. The concept of composition as such, as far as I can understand, is the union of individuals for their subsequent growth and prosperity.

On one side of the mural, on a nearby wall, we can also see a phrase by Eduardo Galeano that says "... We are what we do and above all, what we do to change what we are..."; I think it is a very powerful phrase, since throughout my existence, I have come across very few people who are really willing to make a real change in themselves to improve their conditions. I like to think that my daily effort is also linked to my growth as a person. It is pleasant to decipher messages through the drawings, but the more direct words, as in this case, may help the people who pass by the place and stop to read it for a moment to reflect.

¡Hola a todos los amantes del arte callejero! En mis últimas expediciones por la ciudad (Caracas-Venezuela), pude aventurarme a fotografiar unos cuantos murales que me hallé en mi camino. Para participar ésta semana en el concurso #183 de la comunidad, escogí mostrar un mural que me gustó bastante por el estilo usado por el artista Felipe García.

Me agradan mucho los dibujos en donde se puede apreciar pequeños detalles y color, como en éste. El artista, usa las líneas curvas para otorgar un efecto visual interesante, que me hace pensar en ilustraciones de cuentos de aventuras. El concepto como tal de la composición, según puedo entender, es la unión de los individuos para su posterior crecimiento y prosperidad.

A un costado del mural, en una pared próxima, también podemos apreciar una frase de Eduardo Galeano que dice "... Somos lo que hacemos y sobre todo, lo que hacemos para cambiar lo que somos..."; pienso que es una frase muy poderosa, ya que a lo largo de mi existencia, me he topado con muy pocas personas que realmente, están dispuestas a realizar un cambio verdadero en sí mismos para mejorar sus condiciones. Me gusta pensar que mi esfuerzo diario está también ligado a mi crecimiento como persona. Es agradable descifrar mensajes a través de los dibujos, pero las palabras más directas como en éste caso, tal vez ayuden a reflexionar a las personas que pasen por el lugar y se detengan a leerlo un momento.
