Hello all craft lovers! Today I come to show you a project that I have been working on in recent weeks as a participation in the art contest. the Splinterlands community, which consists of recreating through any artistic movement, the characters of the card game and for this opportunity, I made a piece using some recycling materials:

When I participate in this contest, I like to observe the characters until I am tempted by my creative instinct. The card I chose for this specific participation is called "Goblin Tower". It caught my attention because I was curious about its preparation. I mean, I didn't know how I was going to make it but I wanted to try.

The main idea I had was to use cardboard, since I did not have paddles (the ones that normally come with some ice creams). Luckily, my older brother gave me some empty boxes of an iced tea product (there were several boxes), made of some kind of cardboard, which he was going to throw away. As glues, I used school glue, hot and cold silicone. To make the Goblins, I chose to use plasticine.

I started with the base and to do so, I cut a square on which I glued some cardboard strips that I took from a toothpaste box with cold silicone. These strips were the "skeleton of the tower" and on top, I glued a slightly smaller square, so that the tower had a slightly triangular shape.

Then, with the iced tea boxes, I cut several strips of cardboard and began gluing them along the entire structure, trying to get a look similar to the tower in the reference image. I liked to make this part because I am not one for "measurements" and the tower is quite uneven and imperfect, which gave me a lot of freedom when making these "planks." I also used some ice cream popsicles that I had available (only 3 ha ha) and glued them as additional boards, as well as some small cardboard circles, to create some nails.

Once I had the tower structure ready, I started working with the Goblins figure. For this, I used school plasticine. She had not used this type of material for quite some years, so she was quite excited about the idea. Previously I had worked with flexible dough or porcelanicron, which is a dough that allows you to make any type of figures with a smooth and resistant finish. In the case of the plasticine, the material was excessively soft and it was a bit difficult for me when it came to molding, not to mention that it was somewhat oily. But with some patience, I was able to make the Goblin figures as decently as I could (because halfway through, I didn't know how I was going to make them). I helped myself with my nails and some wooden sticks, since I don't have the right tools to work with this type of dough.

At this point, I felt confident enough to continue with the project, since in my opinion, making the Goblins was the difficult part. So the next thing was to move on to painting the tower. I know, it would have been the best thing to paint the tower first, but I was anxious to use the plasticine and once I started using it, given its consistency, I had to glue the figures to the tower or they would end up getting damaged. I liked using plasticine, but I think that for this type of projects, it is best to use flexible dough or porcelanicron.

After I painted the tower, with its respective details to achieve a "wooden" effect. I set about making the pieces like the frying pan and the fork, which I made with aluminum foil, as well as the broom, using a branch and thread that I had at home and that also served me to make the ropes.

Once I glued them in place, I had the tower finished and ready for the defense of Goblin territory.

For the photographs, I chose to access one of the building's gardens. I can confess that it was a project that entertained me a lot and I am very satisfied with the final result. I look forward to seeing what I can work with for a next participation.

¡Hola a todos los amantes de las manualidades! Hoy vengo a mostrarles un proyecto en el que estuve trabajando las últimas semanas como participación en el concurso de arte de la comunidad de Splinterlands, el cual consiste en recrear a través de cualquier movimiento artístico, los personajes del juego de cartas y para ésta oportunidad, elaboré una pieza utilizando algunos materiales de reciclaje:

Cuando participo en éste concurso, me gusta observar a los personajes hasta ser tentada por mi instinto creador. La carta que escogí para ésta participación en específico, se llama "Torre Goblin". Me llamó bastante la atención porque tenía curiosidad en cuánto a su elaboración. Es decir, no sabía cómo la iba a elaborar pero quería intentarlo.

La idea principal que tuve, fue la utilización de cartón, ya que no contaba con paletas (las que normalmente vienen en algunos helados). Por suerte, mi hermano mayor me regaló algunas cajas vacías de un producto de té helado (eran varias cajas), hechas de una especie de cartulina, las cuales iba a tirar a la basura. Como pegamentos, utilicé pegamento escolar, silicón frío y caliente. Para la elaboración de los Goblins, opté por el uso de plastilina.

Comencé con la base y para ello, corté un cuadrado en el cual, pegué con silicón frío unas tiras de cartón que saqué de una caja de pasta dental. Estas tiras fueron el "esqueleto de la torre" y en la parte superior, pegué un cuadrado un poco más pequeño, de manera que la torré tuviese una forma un poco triangular.

Luego, con las cajas de té helado, corté varias tiras de cartón y comencé a pegarlas a lo largo de toda la estructura, intentando obtener una apariencia parecida a la de la torre de la imagen de referencia. Me gustó elaborar ésta parte porque no soy de "medidas" y la torre es bastante desigual e imperfecta, lo cual, me dio bastante libertad a la hora de realizar estos "tablones". También utilicé algunas paletas de helado que tenía disponible (3 nada más ja ja) y las pegué como tablas adicionales, al igual que unos pequeños círculos de cartón, para crear unos clavos.

Una vez que tuve lista la estructura de a torre, empecé a trabajar con la figura de los Goblins. Para ello, utilicé plastilina escolar. Tenía bastantes años sin haber utilizado éste tipo de material, así que estaba bastante emocionada con la idea. Anteriormente había trabajado con masa flexible o porcelanicron, la cual es una masa que te permite hacer cualquier tipo de figuras con un acabado liso y resistente. En el caso de la plastilina, el material era excesivamente suave y se me dificultó un poco a la hora del moldeamiento, sin mencionar que era algo aceitosa. Pero con algo de paciencia, pude elaborar las figuras de los Goblins, lo más decente que se me fue posible (porque en medio camino, no sabía cómo los iba a hacer). Me ayudé con mis uñas y unos palitos de madera, dado que no tengo las herramientas adecuadas para trabajar con éste tipo de masa.

A estas alturas, me sentía con la suficiente confianza como para seguir con el proyecto, pues a mi parecer, realizar los Goblins era la parte difícil. Así que lo siguiente, fue pasar a la pintura de la torre. Lo sé, hubiera sido lo más idóneo pintar la torre primero, pero, estaba ansiosa por utilizar la plastilina y una vez que empecé a usarla, dada su consistencia, tuve que pega las figuras a la torre o terminarían por estropearse. Me gustó usar la plastilina, pero pienso que para éste tipo de proyectos, lo mejor es usar la masa flexible o porcelanicron.

Después de que pinté la torre, con sus respectivos detalles para lograr un efecto de "madera". Me dispuse a elaborar las piezas como la sartén y el tenedor, los cuales los realicé con papel aluminio, así como la escoba, utilizando una rama e hilo que tenía en casa y que me sirvió también para hacer las sogas.

Una vez que las pegué en su lugar, tuve la torre terminada y lista para la defensa del territorio Goblin.

Para las fotografías, opté por acceder a uno de los jardines del edificio. Puedo confesar que fue un proyecto que me entretuvo bastante y estoy muy satisfecha con el resultado final. Espero con ansías ver con que logro trabajar para una siguiente participación.
