¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad! La imagen aportada esta semana para el concurso, seguramente dejó a más de uno con las ganas de ir a comprarse una deliciosa dona y en mi caso, me hizo recordarme de una anécdota de mi infancia...

Tengo un recuerdo muy especial con las donas. Cuando éramos pequeños, mis hermanos y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de comer muchas golosinas, pero entre todas ellas, habían unas que siempre esperábamos con anhelo y esas eran las donas. Una vez a la semana, a la urbanización llegaba un vehículo con una oferta de 3 donas por 1000 bs; en ese tiempo, esa cantidad era muy económica y mis padres, siempre nos daban a cada uno de nosotros esa cantidad, para que pudiéramos comprarnos 3 donas para cada uno.

Podrían pensar que era una decisión difícil escoger que tipo de glaseado comprar, cuando habían tantas variedades. Pero nosotros, al igual que la gran mayoría, teníamos una predilección por las donas rellenas de arequipe. Porque las donas eran enormes, haciendo ver las de las fotografías pequeñas y las que vendían rellenas de arequipe, tenían tanto relleno que si no las manipulabas bien, acababan por romperse y hacer un desastre de arequipe en las bolsas de papel en donde te las entregaban.

Así quedáramos completamente empalagados, la mayor parte del tiempo siempre escogíamos comprar 3 donas rellenas de arequipe cada uno. Era la gloria y el momento dulce más esperado por nosotros en toda la semana.

Al crecer y mudarnos, pasé años sin volver a comer una dona, hasta que mi mamá aprendió a hacerlas de modo casero. Son deliciosas, aunque creo que son más del tipo "rosquillas", ya que quedan más duras. Pero el sabor, nada se asemejaba a aquellas donas suaves.

Todas las veces que me he aventurado a comprarme una dona en alguna tienda, guardo la pequeña esperanza de hallarme con una dona como aquellas de las que compraba en mi infancia. Sin embargo, el relleno de aquellas donas es sumamente medido, teniendo que a veces, rebuscar entre la masa para hallarlo. A pesar de que tengan un buen sabor, no se compara con esas donas de antaño.

Me pregunto si con el pasar del tiempo, nuestros recuerdos se van volviendo más fantasiosos de lo que realmente son. Porque recuerdo muchas cosas deliciosas que no he podido encontrar en semejanza en el presente. Aún así, creo que mi tipo de dona favorita sigue siendo esa, la de rellena de arequipe, como una oda a ese tiempo en el que no dudaba en gastarme el dinero en cosas dulces... Ahora, admito que lo pienso demasiado jaja

I have a very special memory with donuts. When we were little, my brothers and I had the opportunity to eat many sweets, but among all of them, there were some that we always looked forward to and those were donuts. Once a week, a vehicle arrived at the urbanization with an offer of 3 donuts for 1000 bs; At that time, that amount was very economical and my parents always gave each of us that amount, so that we could buy 3 donuts each.

You might think it was a difficult decision to choose which type of frosting to buy, when there were so many varieties. But we, like the vast majority, had a predilection for donuts filled with arequipe. Because the donuts were huge, making the ones in the photographs look small and the ones they sold filled with arequipe, they had so much filling that if you didn't handle them well, they would end up breaking and making a mess of arequipe in the paper bags where they were delivered to you. .

Even if we were completely overwhelmed, most of the time we always chose to buy 3 donuts filled with arequipe each. It was the glory and the sweet moment most anticipated by us all week.

As I grew up and moved, I went years without ever eating a donut again, until my mom learned to make them at home. They are delicious, although I think they are more of the "doughnut" type, since they are harder. But the taste was nothing like those soft donuts.

Every time I have ventured to buy a donut in a store, I have the small hope of finding a donut like the ones I bought in my childhood. However, the filling of those donuts is extremely measured, sometimes having to search through the dough to find it. Even though they taste good, they don't compare to those donuts of yesteryear.

I wonder if, as time goes by, our memories become more fanciful than they really are. Because I remember many delicious things that I have not been able to find in resemblance at the present. Still, I think my favorite type of donut is still that one, the one filled with arequipe, as an ode to that time when I didn't hesitate to spend money on sweet things... Now, I admit that I think about it too much haha
