I've never managed a photo of a flicker off the ground. Seldom see them elsewhere. Good for you getting a perching one!
I have two families of the Flickers that live in my woods and see them often. They are fun to watch while scouring the grass for bugs. Happy New Year.
And I am very sure the bird rolled into the New Year 😁
