Astacus astacus (river crayfish)

At least I think that it is this species, it is possible that this species is Austropotamobius torrentium (spring crayfish).

He was interesting to me. And I'd rather not touch it with my fingers 🤭

This was mentioned because I saw photos with crabs on their hands, or holding them with their hands...

This little crab was as if dead at first. Curled up in a ball, stiff... I groped him a little with a pair of gloves, to check if he was alive.
He was on the concrete, a little further from the water... I pushed him into deeper water, maybe he was without water for a long time?!

Since it was falling from the dam, the water was flowing fast like a waterfall...and he was frolicking in it....Only after about five minutes he pulled away, straightened up and started to move...he saw that we were not going to do anything to him and to be able to stretch normally... behave...

The kid is wise, when there's a crowd, he pretends to be dead... that's how he manages to survive....

It was an interesting meeting, river crayfish are protected by law because they are threatened with extinction....

I am happy to have met these rare inhabitants of our rivers... They fight for survival as best they know how, in our country they are helped very little...

This part of the river is a little protected, and suitable for their life... It is visited only in the summer months, and only for some visitors in the other months...

I hope the colony will grow and be happy here..

A peaceful oasis between Banat villages... I hope it will stay that way...
