Hoy habíamos pasado por casa de unos primos y estuvimos allá durante un buen rato, pero ya se nos había hecho tarde para la cena, volveríamos a nuestra casa y no nos esperaba cena hecha, por lo tanto decidimos ir a comer en algún lugar cercano y disfrutar un poco de la comida callejera.

Llegamos y nos sentamos a ver la carta y a pedir rápidamente algo porque estábamos bastante hambrientos. Del menú me llamó la atención una salchipapas que tenían un costo de 5 o $6 más o menos y mi novio pidió un shawarma que tenía más o menos el mismo valor. Nos estamos esperando mientras conversamos sobre el día y nuestros planes para seguir creciendo con nuestro pequeño emprendimiento.

We arrived and sat down to look at the menu and quickly order something because we were quite hungry. From the menu I noticed a salchipapas that cost 5 or $6 or so and my boyfriend ordered a shawarma that was about the same value. We are waiting for each other while we talk about the day and our plans to continue growing our small business.

Cuando llegó a la mesa tenía una pinta increíble la comida. El shawarma estaba súper relleno y venía muy bien presentado como pueden ver en la foto no le negaron nada y mis papas tenían muy buen aspecto para cualquier otra persona pero en mi caso aún no me acostumbro a las comidas que venden aquí en Oriente. Me resultan un poco diferentes a mi estilo de comer regularmente y por esto a veces me genera un poco de rechazo. No sabía que iba a traer queso amarillo por encima y no soy muy amante de él, entonces si hubiese sabido tal vez lo hubiese pedido sin él.

When it arrived at the table the food looked amazing. The shawarma was super filling and came very well presented as you can see in the photo, nothing was denied and my potatoes looked very good to anyone else but in my case I am still not used to the food they sell here in the Orient. I find them a bit different from my regular eating style and because of this sometimes it generates a bit of rejection. I didn't know it was going to have yellow cheese on top and I'm not a big fan of it, so if I had known I might have ordered it without it.

Comenzamos a comer y a mi novio le encantó el shawarma específicamente porque el sabor me tenía muy buen sabor e iba complementando con las salsas, tenía salsa picante; guasacaca, cheddar, maíz y queso de año. Él iba comiendo a gusto dando grandes bocados con una cara muy a gusto, por otro lado mi plato tenía papas bien crujientes, tenía chorizo, tocineta, queso cheddar y queso amarillo por encima, aparte de un poco de salsa de tomate. Sinceramente al probarlo no quedé tan complacida, podría decir que no me gustó del todo.

We started to eat and my boyfriend loved the shawarma specifically because the taste was very good and I was complementing it with the sauces, I had hot sauce; guasacaca, cheddar, corn and cheese of the year. He was eating at ease taking big bites with a very happy face, on the other hand my plate had crispy potatoes, had chorizo, bacon, cheddar cheese and yellow cheese on top, besides a little tomato sauce. Honestly when I tasted it I wasn't that pleased, I could say I didn't like it at all.

La salchipapa es un plato muy especial para mí ya que me recuerda a mi infancia cuando iba a un lugar llamado Hernesticos a comer sólo salchipapas. Este lugar cerró y ellos se fueron del país. Recientemente abrieron su sede nuevamente en Argentina, que por cierto hace poco les escribí y me encontré con la grata sorpresa se que les va bien. Al ser un plato tan especial para mí, suelo compararlo muchísimo y termino decepcionada de muchas que como en la calle.

Salchipapa is a very special dish for me as it reminds me of my childhood when I used to go to a place called Hernesticos to eat only salchipapas. This place closed and they left the country. Recently they opened their headquarters again in Argentina, which by the way I recently wrote to them and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are doing well. Being such a special dish for me, I tend to compare it a lot and end up disappointed in many of the dishes I eat on the street.

A la papa le faltaba un poco de sal para mi gusto, yo le quitaría el queso cheddar y cambiaría el chorizo por uno mejor.
